Hi,I have a problem using a switch to open a door. I click onto the door, then change the trigger type to "switch", then on the floor where the switch is and click on the pink button to make it a trigger. When I use the switch nothing happens. A simple trigger (clicking on the door and then on the floor and then on the pink button) works when she steps on that part of the floor. How does it work exactly? IP: Logged |

To make a door open with a switch or a key you actually have to set two separate triggers. Set the trigger for the door, then set the trigger for the switch on the same square, but designate it as a 'switch'. (Setting the triggers on the same square links the switch action to the door opening action.) Think of any trigger that you change the settings in (key, switch, etc.) as a special trigger. When you place a special trigger on a square, it takes priority over the others, thereby Lara's stepping on the door trigger will not activate the door until she 'flips the switch'. (Note: you can't 'stack' special triggers)Don't forget to use 'reverse engineering' techniques if/when you get stuck...by clicking on the pink trigger squares in the plan view grid, a message box will tell you what each trigger on the square represents. After examining many trigger squares you begin to gain a better understanding of how to set up the various triggers. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the very detailed reply :-)The problem is that there is no MANUAL but only a TUTORIAL, so there´s nothing like "How to trigger a door by using a switch". Instead you have to go through the tutorial and search for "door", "switch" and so on until you find something like that.
