Well i am using the karnak wad and the tut textures to begin with but i have came across 2 problems so far. The irst is that when I tried to place DOOR TYPE #3 in the karnak level its invisible when I play the game or its causes a barrier around the area where I placed it. I have turned it around every way possible but its always invisible and sometimes its invisible with an invisible barrier around it. The second thing is that im having the same sort of problem with the the flat bridge in the karnak level. i place the triggers correctly nd when I go to look for the bridge its invisible, but i can tell that its there but its not like it should be. I used the dummy for the type and its just not working for me.
The two problems are very simular so i realy want to believe its my error and not some kind of bug.......Need help fast because im actually almost finished with my first level.
Anybody who can help is welcome to call but please be serious....818-761-6326

The "invisible barrier" (remember this bug from TR III?) is caused by inserting the door the wrong way - the barrier should be there on the other side if the door has not been opened yet.
Are you sure you saved your level as karnak.tom?

Sorry, but calls from Germany to the US arenīt as cheap as posting here

Hey John, thanks for your reply. Im sorry but
I never experienced the TR3 barrier, but here is whats going on. I started a game from scratch and loaded the tut textures and then I loaded the karnak objects. After I built a room or two I saved the prj over writing the tut file. Its been loading with no problem and all the objects from karnak are there at my disposal. I have used door
type 1 and 2 but door type 3 is giving me trouble as well as the flat bridge. It seems
that when I get to the point where I put door type 3 or a flat bridge it isnt there.
Now what is there is funny but im real serious. Well it looks like some body cut out
a portion of lara's but and pasted it in thin air right where the door should be. Now here is something funnier than that, because when I trigger the switch this but starts floating off down the corridor and then im able to walk thru thr door way,,,that is if the invisible barrier isnt there. But now that you mention it.......shouldnt there be a black scorpion in the karnak level?
Im asking because thats what the manual says and thats whats in the example but the scorpion in my object box is red and it works fine. The baddie is the type with the red and black clothes and the crocodile is in the object box also. Do you think that the fils could have gotten crossed? If so shouldnt i have gotten an error message or shouldnt the objects I placed already been removed the the files got crossed? Im realy
confused now.....but please post me another note and give me some help......realy

WRONG FILENAME FOR TOM FILE!

If you load the objects from
karnak you must (!!!) save as karnak.tom
tut1 -> tut1.tom
cleopal -> cleopal.tom

and so on.

You CANNOT load e.g. karnak.wad and save as tut1.tom, this WILL NOT WORK as you experienced.
So if you want to use the objects from karnak.wad you MUST save as karnak.tom and the problems will disappear.
