im havin real problems with water, ill try to be as specific as i can.im using the tut1 project,i've cleared all the rooms and started building rooms from scratch.i havent changed any of the objects or textures.i have two rooms one stacked on top of the other, doors connecting the two.the lower room is the water room.every time i try to make lara jump into the water she keeps popping up and down out of the water and is basically stuck.i have followed the instructions in the manuel for making water rooms and just cant figure it out.IP: Logged |

Please make sure that the ceiling of the lower water room has the same height as the floor of the upper room. Did you switch the room to a water room ("W" button) ?IP: Logged |

the floor of the upper room is set to 0,and the ceiling of the lower room is also set to 0.and yes the lower room is set as a water room.the number beside the W is 1.ive also tried it as 3,although i have no idea what the numbers stand for.THX IP: Logged |

I believe the manual states that the number next to the W should be 2.------------------ Just putting in my two cents. IP: Logged |

I haven't had a problem with the water in TUT.WAD, but I do get a problem using water in the Tomb Of Seth WAD. Lara will not animate in the water, and she will not stop moving (it's kind of like playing Pac-Man, just point her in the direction, and off she goes.) Also, when you try to come out of the water, she miraculously stands on the water's surface. By leaving my level exactly as it was, but switching to another WAD, the problem was resolved. So, there must be a bug in that particular WAD.IP: Logged |

You shouldn't be having any problem creating water with the tut1.was. It sounds like you may have some illegal slopes on the floor of your water room - that is the only thing I know of that causes Lara to "do the jig". Try using the 'find illegal slopes' button and fix any that it may find. Also, just for fun, try loading the tut1.was back into the project you rebuilt to see if it works. The fact that you rebuilt the model tells me it may have had something to do with the model, not the WAD.IP: Logged |
