I always loved the Croft Manor and it was fun as **** to do stuff at it, but it's once again not included. It would be the greatest if someone made it. Not exactly, but a good substitute. It's just an idea for some one. Sometimes I just feel like goin around without any baddies after me.IP: Logged |

Me too. Though I wouldn't necessarily want to traipse through the mansion again, I do enjoy levels that aren't overpopulated with enemies. TR is best when it's more about exploring than fighting. I'm trying to base my own levels on that premise, and it's nice to know someone else feels the same way. IP: Logged |

Remember, enemies won't appear in your level unless you place them there!!! Any level can be solely for exploration, which reminds me, has anyone figured out that they can use the WAD from the title flyby? It has some nice objects in it, but no enemies....IP: Logged |

Why don't you try to recreate the Croft Manor, I'm at the moment trying to re-create the first Tombraider with twist of the TRTLR engine.

See I really would try to create the Croft Manor, but I am having sooo much trouble. It's not because of the program (I don't think), it's cause I am just very new at this and am still getting the hang of it. But once I do, the Croft Manor will be my first project. Oh, and thanks for the feedback.IP: Logged |

DocWillardMD, regarding your attempts to re-create the first Tomb Raider: I would advise holding off on that until there are some more WADs available. After all, the Lost Valley just wouldn't be the same without the dinos. In the mean time, I recommend that you try to embark on projects that can be accomplished with the available WADs. I also plan on taking on this project, but I'm going to hold off in hopes that the WADs will eventually be available. It wouldn't be a bad idea for Core to work on a level editor "expansion pack" with a collection of WADs from all TR installments (updated to TRLR standards, of course). I certainly know that I'd buy if it ever hit the stores.------------------ Just putting in my two cents. IP: Logged |

I hear ya - but I creating the actual levels and holding off on placin objects just now (in anticipation that Core/Eidos release some wads with some dinos, crocs etc...)I agree with you about the expansion packs, most other games do... besides Core/Eidos may like the idea of the extra income from the sale of a expansion pack. I have almost finished my version of the Croft manor, however, has anyone noticed that in every outing there has been major work conducted on the mansion:TR1) Sets the standard. TR2) Outside, kitchen and Attic gets added. TR3) Kitchen is changed completely, Dining room is added (sectioned from the Ball room), Laras artifact room and some others... it's hard to keep up, what next... (sewing room with the attack of the deadly thimbles???). It's hard to keep track of everything in perspective in this house! I just have one question when does Lara get the time to do these sort of things or has the Butler been a naughty boy when shes off saving the world from a demon from the past, a giant spider or some greasy Italian bloke with a dodgey dress sense! Yeah CORE changes the manor every game. I wonder that there are so many differents at these four TR's......Maybe the butler is a big strong man changes the hole things with his magic potion But it makes me really sick that there is no OpenGL version of TR 1 Only 3DFX Glide or Software accelerated... I'm currently building Laras house. For the most part, it's a replica of the house in TR3, but I have made some changes. I'll post up a few screenshot sometime later today.------------------

Ok, here are those screenshots. http://www.angelfire.com/games/trip/house.jpg Unfortunately, you'll have to save the image to your HD to see it. Right click and go to 'save as'. ------------------

Well, I won't be releasing the prj file, but I will release the tr4 file. I havn't decided on a wad yet, but I was thinking the same as you, the moterbike would be good to use outside, on a course like the one the quad-bike was on. Here's a note on the moterbike, I was testing out with it, and it will go up slopes as steep as 15 clicks and more! ------------------

Unfortunately, it's probably going to be a lot longer then I anticipated before I release the level. I'm using city.wad because I need the moterbike, but I've heard that it doesn't contain the wall climb or monkey swing anims. You can't really make her assualt courses to well whithout these functions, and I want to make all of the fireplaces in her house climbable, so unless the wad gets updates with the anims, the level will be pretty useless. ------------------
