I have been desiging a level for the last 2 weeks but at the time I started, I found it somewhat difficult to understand how to change the name of the level and the text at the start of the level. So I decided to go ahead and get started with the designing and come back to that later. But today I thought what if the only way to change the level name and starting text was to do it first before you started designing. So now I ask the scary question................Will I be able to change my level name when im done designing it or is it just too late and do I have to trash 2 weeks of work and start all over again?

I think you can. You have to rename everything though.

I am very interested in this also. My last attempt at changing the script files resulted in an unreadable menu screen followed by a game crash.

Yes you can change the name of the level at any time. Changing the name of the entire WAD is more of a convenience thing than anything else. If you want a different LEVEL name to appear on the title page, you change the first line of script in the block of script for the level you are renaming (in the script.txt file), then type over the old name in the English.txt file (it must be EXACTLY the same as the script.txt entry) Then run the DOS commands and make sure the new files get copied into your root directory.....If you change the name of the TR4 file, you have to change that entry in the script (last line of the 'block' of level info) but you don't have to make any changes in the english.txt file. (the difference is that the tr4 name is a path name and the LEVEL name is displayed text) Just make sure the TR4 file name is placed in the block of script corresponding to the WAD used in that level.
