i have done my first level and triggered it (finish) and putting a number 2 in the box so that it triggers it to go on the 2nd level when lara goes on the square.

i have done my second level but how do i connect them.she goes on the finish trigger square and then it loads up and goes on to the tomb of seth how do i do it so that when she finishes the first level.she goes on to my second level?

You have to edit script.txt accordingly. This is described in the tutorial.

If you used the settomb object wad for your second level (karnak for the third, etc.) you wouldn't have to change the script.....but if you used catacomb.was, for example, you would have to cut and paste that block of script and insert it in the second position (just after the tutorial level)...or you can try using the number in your finish trigger that corresponds to the level position in the existing script..just make sure the TR4 file has the same name as the original WAD file (so if in your second level you used karnak, you would put a 3 in the finish trigger since it is the third level in the script).

It has been noted that you can't load up the City of the Dead after any of the other levels. It will only load to levels made using that same wad.
