Hi,Is there already a WAD available containing Lara in her black matrix-like latex outfit? And, if not, perhaps one of Lara in het black catsuit as seen in the London levels? Thanks in advance, Best regards, Striffelbuur

Hi,Thanks... Let's hope one of this WAD will be made public soon, for not only does Lara look her best: the objects it contains are so incredibly cool; it would open up a whole world of possabilities... offices... futuristic settings... etc... etc... Best regards, Striffelbuur.

It's not latex, it's PVC. Latex cannot be used to make clothes as it's far too stretchy and melts too easily. You can vulcanise it to make it stronger, but that is too hard and stiff to make clothes out of. PVC is a type of man-made plastic which is what is generally used for that.IP: Logged |

PS. As far as I knew you could not change lara's model in the tomb raider levels unless you install the non-cd patch (which since is a product of reverse engineering, a practice forbidden by the EULA is illegal anyway).IP: Logged |

Good to know; at least I'll know what to get my girlfriend ;-) Anyway, I thoroughly hope a WAD containing the objects and the Lara used in the last levels of Chronicles soon, or I'll have to emulate desks using textured 2x1 blocks, and I'll have to leave out all the doors and paint them on the walls as textures pretending they've already been opened :-( Best regards, Striffelbuur

There is a tool built for me that let you to extract the textures from the WAD to a Bitmap file, then you use a paint program to edit the textures for all object, even the Lara's clothes, then you use the same tool to put back the edited textures to the WAD.Get the tool at:http://www.levelworld.tricos.com/news.php Look at the Tool section. Hope this help. T.P.

Hi,It appears that John Jones (of Levelworld.com) just went on holiday today, so unfortunately he won't be able to help me for quite some time; I'd therefore really be gratefull if you could indeed mail me the application. Thanks very much in advance, Best regards, Striffelbuur. IP: Logged |

Hi Turbo_Pascal,Well, the file was available today, so I started experimenting with it right away. Unfortunately (yes, of course, there's always an unfortunately when building something, isn't there?) my Lara turns completely black when I import a .bmp back into the WAD... Have I saved the bitmap in a wrong format? Or am I doing something else wrong? This even occurs when all I do is open a WAD, save the .bmp, close the program, start the program, open the .bmp, and save it into the WAD again... Thanks for any help you might be able to offer me, Best regards, Striffelbuur

Hi, i am in vacation righ now, i will come to my home this weekend, so i will check if there is someting wrong with the program,- Did you try the program with another WAds? - Are the textures looking wrong in the screen when you open the bitmap in str2pix program?, or just when you run the game? - Are there some other objects that look wrong or just Lara? T.P.

Great! Thanks very much, and enjoy your vacation of course! quote:

Good one, I'll try that tonight! Which WAD did you test it with? Perhaps I can check to see if this is the case; saves you some time as well ;-) quote:

Just in-game, when I extract them, they all look fine, but as mentioned, writing that same file back into the WAD causes the completely black Lara... quote:
- Are there some other objects that look wrong or just Lara? T.P.
I'll check that one tonight as well; I haven't placed any objects yet, as I was hoping to alter the appearance of the props as well, but for testing purposes, I'll place objects in the level to see if it's just Lara, Lara and some of the objects, or Lara and all of the objects that are affected... Best regards & thanks for the support! Striffelbuur.

Hi,My machine is unable to run trle (old machine) so i can test what you say in-game runing, but I tested Strpix program with catacomb.wad, first i backup catacomb.wad, then i extract and put back the textures, then i compare the actual catacomb.wad with the previous backup, no difference encounter. So maybe you are doing someting wrong, these are the step-by-step. 1. - Open the WAD. 2. - Save as bitmap. 3. - Close the program and edit the bitmap if you want. Must be saved in your paint program in 24 bit color. 4. - Run strpix program . 5. - Open bitmap. (DO NOT open the wad) 6. - Save in WAD. (must be saved in the same Wad that you extract the textures) Hope this help, let me know if this work. BTW, there is a friend called Bitshifter that is working a un better program that will let you edit each texture tile by tile, soon this tool will be availible. see you, Turbo Pascal.

Alas, this is exactly what I'm doing; even if I leave out step 3 (so even if I don't even touch the extracted .bmp) all textures in catacomb.wad still end up completely black... :-( Then again, you are saying that you can't run the level-editor yourself, so how exactly have you tested this? quote:

Well, true as that may be, after that the project still needs to be compiled before it can be run, and both in the editor as in the compiled level, the textures are black... quote:

I use Windows 2000 Professional on a very stable configuration (only crashed about 3 times in the last 12 months or so)... quote:

Is this the guy that wrote the program? Anyway, thanks very much for all the help, and I'll contact him; hopefully it's only a minor detail that prevents the altered WAD from being correctly interpreted by the editor and by the converter... Best regards, Striffelbuur
