I'm working my way through the trle tutorial, and have hit my first snag - all of my textures are black! Did I not properly load a texture file? Am I missing something? This isn't something that is fixed by rebooting, minimizing/restoring the window, etc., the textures are just black. Help appreciated.

I take it that you mean the texture panel on the right side of the editor is all black.

When you load an existing project it's texture and object files should also load without you doing anything.

Try hitting ALT-ENTER several times and see what happens. If that doesn't help try loading a previous save. And if that doesn't work either go to the Texture menu and pick Load TGA. From there load the file tut1text.TGA

As soon as you get you project loaded correctly again, resave it with a new name.
