Nice! ;-) Though I think this is only the beginning; right now we still have to figure out which texture-blocks are applied to which part of which object: once we've got the grips with that we can really focus solely on the texture-design itself, and we'll be able to make Lara's outfits look even better (yes, of course I'm also planning to design the ultimate minicatsuit ;-))... I've also been experimenting a bit with replacing the textures on other objects, and the ability to do this really enhances the possabilities for more imaginative level-design; no longer Lara needs to be stuck in Egyptian tombs ;-) By the way, do you happen to know if there's a trick or filter in PhotoShop 6.0 to make a tiling-texture more easily? At the moment I first pixelpaint the general shapes of the texture, then apply a filter if necessary, and then retouch the edges to make it tile again, but especially with more complex textures this is rather difficult... Is there a way to draw with a caleidoscopic-like effect, so that it's easier to make all the edges fit together? Best regards, Striffelbuur.

i dont know, sorryi know which textures go where on lara now, it was really hard though, it took me 3 days (5hours per day abput) to work it out. i am now concentrating on the texures and making it way better with logos and zips on it... James... IP: Logged |

Just an idea (and a rather time-consuming one as well, but still, just an idea): Since you've already figured out which textures go where, maybe it's a nice idea to make a TGA of one of the WADS (I don't know if Lara's textures are at the same spots in all WADS yet), and make all Lara's textures a solid color with a number in the middle, with a list of desciptions to descibe which texture is used for which part of Lara... It'll make it a whole lot easier for other people who are bound to want to design their own Lara outfits... Up until now I've only been editing the textures of objects like the kick-door, but I hope to get started on Lara's look this weekend... Best regards, Striffelbuur.

Hmmm... nice one! ;-) Lara in a tux... Though I read in this forum that some of the textures used for her arms and legs are also used for her face... If this is correct, then you'll have to take that into account when designing an outfit; you wouldn't want Lara to be running around with all sorts of colors on her face just because she's got normal trousers on... What about a really really corny one: blue short jeans, white t-shirt with some incredibly corny logo on it, and blonde hair... Best regards, Striffelbuur.

Hey Striffelbuur, try this method to make doing a seamless texture a little bit easier... okay LOTS, easier. Please excuse any spelling mistakes or errors, as I'm partyed-out 1. Draw your image. 2. Select the following menu option: Filter->Other->Offset. You MUST be in Image->Mode->RGB Colour for this to work. 3. Enter these values: Horizontal=50 Vertical=50 Wrap Around=On Click on OK. This will enable you to see all of the edges of your image and you may edit them so that they will wrap neatly. 4. To do this easily, select the Clone Stamp tool from the toolbar and fix any edges that don't wrap so good. Refer to the help in Photoshop if you don't know how to use this tool. 5. Now, to put your texture back the way it was you need to select the Filter->Other->Offset menu option again. Only this time you enter a negative value in the "Horizontal" and "Vertical" fields, in this case it will be -50 for both (it could be that you entered numbers other than 50 in step 3. if so just enter the negative value of that. But that would mean you didn't follow my instructions completely... naughty ) 6. Your image should be back the way you intended it to be, (if you've followed my instructions to-the-letter) all that you need do now is convert your image to the Tomb Raider palette I guess Hope this helps you, though if you have any problems with it let me know, okay? Anway, happy new year and keep on with the level editing. Cheers, Opdam IP: Logged |

Hiya,Several tools are available at levelworld.org which allow you to extract and import textures... PhotoShop 5 is perfect for the job... Best regards, Striffelbuur. IP: Logged |
