Since Core/Eidos are apparently going to be releasing additional WADs in the future, we should give them an idea of which ones we would like to see. Personally, I would like to have a WAD that contains dinosaurs (Lost Valley in TR, Great Wall in TR2 or Crash Site in TR3). Any other suggestions?------------------ Just putting in my two cents. You're mistaken there Stiffeldude. There isn't another thread... THERE ARE A LOT OF OTHER THREADS. About 40% of the threads here talk about this one way or another. Damn. I really hope Eidos really does get to pay some attention to all this WAD uproar.IP: Logged |

There is another poll on this subject in the TR Series forum, but I figure that the people working on the WADs (Reb, etc.) are more likely to see it here.------------------ Just putting in my two cents. IP: Logged |

I would like to see more wads but realized something. We can only use wads from TR 4 and 5 because of the game engine. In order to play our levels we would need 2 new editors one for TR1-2 and one for TR3.------------------ Never give-up! unless the situation is hopeless:) IP: Logged |

Considering that the game engine has not changed all that much over the years, I don't think it would be very difficult for Core to update the WADs from TR, TR2 and TR3 for use with the level editor. Or, they could always re-make them from scratch (which would take quite a bit of time, but is still doable). Of course, any re-made WADs would most likely not be free, but Core could release them for sale and satisfy a lot of people.------------------ Just putting in my two cents. IP: Logged |

Yeah, that's what I agree with.Core should just keep releasing the wads for Last Revelation like they are, for free, but also give us the wads for TR's 1-3, for a price. After all, like you said, it would take some work, so it's only right that we should pay for them. IP: Logged |

My last post was about game engines and this back it up and says who certain things are incompatible. This is from the official Level editor interview at www.tombraiders.com. Will we be able to use enemies from any of the Tomb Raider games (1, 2, 3, or 4 or the Gold levels)? Unfortunately no...The Tomb Raider design tools and the guts of the game engine have been worked on between every different TR game so things often aren't compatible between the versions. We plan on providing a decent number of enemies from TR TLR initially for people to play with and possibly making more available later on down the line. ------------------ Never give-up! unless the situation is hopeless:) IP: Logged |
