What do you use the extra texture files found on the CD for? Can you use the coastal texture files and coastal extra texture files at the same time?

The extra textures are just there to give you more possibilities. Since the main set of textures come entirely from Tomb Raider 4, the extra ones let you experiment with textures from earlier TR games. The only problem is, there are no WADs to accompany these extra textures... so, you're stuck with Egyptian artifacts in an Indian jungle (or the arctic, for that matter.)

And no, you can't use two texture sets in one level. You can, however, do a little cutting and pasting. For example, assuming you have some sort of paint program, you can load the two different texture sets into your paint program, copy the textures you want from each of them, and paste them into a new texture set.
