when i lunch the room editor a note apears:
this program made an illigal action. and i can't enter to the program. the details of the notice are:

I have the EXACT same error...
I would also really like to get it working, but i have tried everything i can think of and it still doesn't work. I even re-installed Windows!

Lets hope someone can help us.
Maybe someone from Core or Eidos? Seeing as this is the official forum...

why don't you two swap hardware/software specs? maybe there's a common link. A piece of software or something that is interfering with it running.

I had problems with the level editor. I had to use a different computer in the end.
