Did you make a space-station yet? Or a prison? And what about your everyday environments? There's lots of nice structures nearby that have probably never caught your attention before, because you didn't think of them as possible TR-levels...

Good luck!

Yep! Don't be too discouraged though once you find out that trying to recreate environments you know can cause slightly more problematic situations than designing a level based on a non-existent environment ;-)

Be prepared to make some sacrifices and slight alterations to the 'real world' in your levels, as simply not all structures can be replicated exactly...

I've spent my spare moments over the last couple of weeks on recreating our office, and it is only now that I've gotten the grips with the editor enough, and that I've learned when to make concessions, that I'm almost done creating something that recreates the actual environment enough to maintain the illusion even for those who work there, and who really know the place...

Good luck!
Striffelbuur.

P.S.: parking lots, corporate buildings, and shopping malls might provide you with quite a bit of inspiration!

Iguion, do you think you can help us with our attempt for an ENTIRE Tomb Raider game?

What would be nice would be some kind of compilation of levels in some coherent order, downloadable in a lump sum, incorporated with a menu system. Basically like a TR6. That would be interesting.

I mean like an alternate TRLR, I am aware that TR6 is actually in the making.

Ideas, eh? I forgot the subject for a while there. I would like to do a mine. I am experimenting with flipmaps and am having great fun with blown up corridors and dark mazes, etc. When I say mine, I mean a dark, coalminey coal mine with rickity ladders and minecarts... ah, for TR3 wads, eh? Like the minecar scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. TR3 didn't really match up to that kind of thrill.

How about making a some levels based on Lara's plane crash in the Himalayas (the one mentioned in all the manuals, but never featured in the games)? I know the WADs don't really lend themselves to that kind of environment, but with some imagination, who knows?

As a side note, the Karnak WAD works quite well with the Peru textures from TR1. With crocodiles, scorpions and doors that don't feature Egyptian markings, I'm now able to work on an Amazon Temple adventure for Lara.

We are making a story for a new Tomb Raider game, and need someone who knows about the tools to build it.
