I would like to know if anybody has found or knows a way to do a lift effect with the editor using the city.wad, not newcity.wad. Any idea's would be greatly appreciated. Tom992 IP: Logged |

Though I haven't used them myself yet, I'd think that flip-maps triggered by a button/switch should do the trick... there have been quite a bit of postings on the subject of flip-maps, so you'll probably be able to find some pointers in these old postings here... Best of luck, Striffelbuur.

Thanks for the tip, but I've chwcked most of the manual and forum guidelines, but still I don't think it can be done. Tom992IP: Logged |

An elevator...knowing Lara, she prefers to hold onto the cable and go up Matrix-style, but flipmaps might do the job, too. I remember a part of the coastal ruins in TRLR, where when you stepped on a block, it sank down... do we have that wad? I don't think so...sorry, just thinking aloud here. If that wad is available, that's probably your best bet, but other than that, it looks like flipmaps are it. It's a pity, though. The elevator would have to go up and down without Lara, and that would be boring and pointless...IP: Logged |

Actually, we do have the coastal ruins WAD, but the sinking block is in the Catacombs (which we also have.) Problem is, it only sinks about 1 click. I think the elevator in the tower block on TR5 was created with flipmaps. Since the elevator doors are closed, you don't see anything moving, but when they open again, the hallway looks different (though not drastically). They also used a slight earthquake effect to shake the elevator so it feels like it's moving. The only other possibility I can think of is that the editor for TR5 has a teleport option (which would come in real handy sometimes, now that I think about it!)
