I've been the victim of the 'Invalid Door' message a few times now and I was just wondering if anybody here might be able to give me an insight into how to go about fixing this particular error.

I have no problem understanding what the error message is on about, I can locate the offending door but I'm stuck as to what to do next. All I've been able to do to fix errors like this has been to copy the room then delete it and paste the room back again in the same position. This works but is there another way to fix it, as my current solution is annoying.

I only seem to get this error while using stacked rooms and I really want to know how the heck this error occurs in the first place.

Cheers,
Opdam

You won't get the message if your 'doors' are connected properly. You can just delete the doors by clicking on the black door area in the plan view window then pressing delete, but if your rooms aren't set up right to make the connecting door, you'll probably get the illegal door message again. Make sure your floor and ceiling elevations are matching, etc.

It appears that if you place two stacked rooms next to one room, and try to connect both rooms by making doors in the same wall, you get this error.

The only workaround I've figured out so far, is by using stacked rooms all the way up to a point where you can break out of this problem by making a doorway only in the bottom- OR top-half of a stacked room.

Quite irritating, but sometimes well worth the effort.

Best regards & good luck,
