So I made this level and I try to upload it to a server.....At first my own ISP but that didn't work, so then I went to 'tripod.com'.....made a kind of site and tried to upload the zipped file with the file manager....but that didn't work either. If I try to upload the file with FTP or with the program Cute Ftp it uploads the file till 85%, then an unretrievable error occurs and I can start all over again. I tried setting Cute Ftp to 'passive', I rebuilded the Tr4 file, I rezipped the file. I think I uploaded allready 60MB but I still have no decent file on my server... And now I give up, maybe somebody has something nice to tell...maybe it's nice weather somewhere....or: Maybe someone has a solution....YEAH..that would be great. Thnx in advance for the one that has, regards, Pytr. IP: Logged |

Hi, quote: Originally posted by Pytr: At first my own ISP but that didn't work.
How was it that this 'didn't work'. The description is a bit too vague for me to be of any assistance... Practically every ISP nowadays provides you with more than enough room to store a couple of TRLE-levels, and it's supposed to be a simple matter of FTP'ing your files to the server... What went wrong? Greetz, Striffelbuur.

P.S.: I just noticed you're located in the Netherlands too, so: what ISP are you using? Demon? XS4ALL?

Hi Striffelbuur,In the Netherlands I'm on 'HetNet' ,they told me (after failed attempts) it's not possible to transfer files through ftp on their server. Strange... but o.k. Tripod should work I thought, I'll show you part of the log: STATUS:> Login successful COMMAND:> TYPE I 200 Type set to 'I' (IMAGE aka BINARY). COMMAND:> REST 100 502 Command 'REST' not implemented STATUS:> This site cannot resume broken downloads COMMAND:> REST 0 502 Command 'REST' not implemented COMMAND:> pwd 257 "/" is current directory. COMMAND:> TYPE A 200 Type set to 'A' (ASCII). STATUS:> Retrieving directory listing... COMMAND:> PORT 62,59,132,130,4,158 200 Port command succeeded. COMMAND:> LIST 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for LIST. STATUS:> Received 330 bytes Ok. STATUS:> Time: 0:00:01, Efficiency: 0.32 KBytes/s (330 bytes/s) 226 Transfer complete. STATUS:> Done. COMMAND:> CWD levels 250 Directory set to '/levels'. COMMAND:> pwd 257 "/levels" is current directory. COMMAND:> TYPE A 200 Type set to 'A' (ASCII). STATUS:> Retrieving directory listing... COMMAND:> PORT 62,59,132,130,4,159 200 Port command succeeded. COMMAND:> LIST 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for LIST. STATUS:> Received 70 bytes Ok. STATUS:> Time: 0:00:01, Efficiency: 0.07 KBytes/s (70 bytes/s) 226 Transfer complete. STATUS:> Done. COMMAND:> TYPE I 200 Type set to 'I' (IMAGE aka BINARY). STATUS:> Sending Amsterdam.zip COMMAND:> PORT 62,59,132,130,4,160 200 Port command succeeded. COMMAND:> STOR Amsterdam.zip 150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for 'Amsterdam.zip'. 421 There has been an unrecoverable error! Bug reports can be sent to ftp@tripod.com. ERROR:> Can't send data. Terminating send process... Error closing data transfer The strange thing is that up till something like 85% everything's ok. Maybe it takes too long..I have a normal telephone line and connect with 2,85 kB/s. (40 min's for a level of 7.805 kB). There could be a time out of the server but I didn't receive any reply on a report I've send to Tripod. Sorry I don't know how to be more detailed than this. C ya IP: Logged | |
