You start with a program called strpix. You can download it here------------------ www.tombraider-customlevels.fsnet.co.uk IP: Logged |

First you have to download strpix, found at levelworld.tricos.com. Then open it. Click file then open wad, find the wad file you want to edit, now open it. Then click file, click save as bmp, then save to desktop. Now the hard part! Finding all of Lara's textures can be a tedious task but it can be done. When you have edited all the textures you want save the bmp. Now in strpix open the bmp from the file menu and then go back to file and click save in wad. Select the same wad you opened and save. Now open the room editor load a project then load the wad you edited. Click on the object menu and select Lara_Skin, then click ok. Now you can see how lara will look in the game. Don't be fooled by the colors as they will be what you used when editing. Output the wad, convert and enjoy your new clothes. This is about as detailed as I can get with editing textures without actually being there to help, so good luck.Does and Don'ts: 1. Don't use the same bmp for multiple wads, this is because the seperate textures for each object are in different locations in each wad bmp. (I found out the hard way) 2. Do experiment and if it's your first time save after each texture modification and save it to the wad and test. This will prevent you from going to far and not being able to undo changes. 3. Have fun and try new things. It is best for beginners to start by simply editing the color of Lara's shirt, then move on to her shorts when more comfortable with ediing and then onto her shoes or objects. Anyway hope this helps anyone who wants to edit Lara. I'll try to keep this thread alive for new comers. Good luck and happy texturing.

My Friend - keep cool. To explain exactly how to do this needs too much place here. Itīs hard difficult, believe that. And you MUST have some special Progs. for this Job - e.g. Photoshop, Photoimpact or something else. Ivīe made some patches to do this job for the fans - its much easier for non experts. But Freedrive changed their rules, no more public sharing folders. At now i must look for another place - may be XDRIVE. At weekend i will post here an downloadlink. Inside the zipfile you find an description and your question will be answered. C.U. TijayIP: Logged |

Once you have a bmp file open it in the paint program and recolor the parts that are Laras and then save it back to the wad it came from. That's all you need to do.------------------ Never give-up! unless the situation is hopeless:) The only thing certain in life is uncertainty! IP: Logged |

Ok, I have painted Lara's shirt black. Looks good! Unfortunately, her socks, holsters, and the ends of her uzis kindof went a little black, too - it really is hard to find all those textures. Most of the SAS guy was turned black, too. I have a picture - where and how can I upload it so others can see?IP: Logged |
