Man this program is a pain.

Okay, I have the aniamtion range set... yet I have problems laying the water down. With a new room, what are the steps to getting an animated surface of water? Should I join (door) the rooms first or later? Then with a room that's already set up... what's next?
I always get an error message to "select a door first" when trying to applying the toggle 2 transparency... HELLLLP!

Hi there,

In the editor window (birds eye view of room) press on the pit to the pool room and with the room selected (in green)then press 'Toggle Opacity 2' Then press the transparent and double sided buttons and apply the water textures to the toggled area. Then go to animation ranges, highlight the textures you used and press ok.

Check out my website for more tips & tricks.

How do you select a room, and it's still green? Do you mean the 2-D map for the bird's eye view? I tried variations on what you're advising me and no dice, I always get the same error message, even if I've highlight the surface of the water from above OR below. I've only made it work once, and that was by accident.

I also hit your website and followed the directions verbatim, no dice.

It's not the 3d view or 2d view.
You have to click in the birds eye view window near the 'file' menu at the top left corner.
When you click on the door it should say 'Pit to room ..'

You can only make a door into water texture. So select the door area on the box in the top left corner. Turn on transparent, double sided, face edit and toggle opacity 2. Then apply all the water textures to the whole area. Go to animation ranges, should all be lit green, click on them, they go red, click ok to close ani ranges window. Go for a swim!!

Reb@Eidos:

Hi Reb, yes! I have read the tutorial, I even printed the whole thing up and made a special folder for it. And then I did actually read it!
I didn't find a "bird's eye" button, but I did finally find out that if I clicked the door once, it work. I was right clicking to select all the boxes. So now I finally have it.

Thanks everyone, for your help!
