I cant put anymore rooms in my level. Here's the pic from tom2pc.exe




can you help me out and tell me what'd be the problems. I really dont wanna scrap this proj.

It's my first project and I did it for nearly 3 months not because it's huge or something but I always stuck w/ problems ..first the room's not enough so I have to find a way to expand it beyond 99 rooms and then the texture's too many so I need to re-textured some of the finished room to fix it ..then this..

the proj's 60% finish but when I tried to add 1 or 2 more rooms ..tombraider4'll crash while loading my level. I'm really stuck here.

I notice you've renamed your wad, you have copied and renamed all the wad files and changed the block in your script file to match I hope

sure man,

I rename all the files in karnak proj. and also change the script too. I 've tested, tried & play my level all along. I even have more than ten version of my proj. but this time's really something I can't figure it out.

Hi,

I don't really understand what the prob. is because I read in your PC level converter that you have more than 99 rooms (139).
I only now one trick to get more than 99 rooms:
First of all always leave one room empty otherwise the program will crash when you use click 'select room'
When you've reached 99 rooms with one empty you have to flip a room (you don't need to make any changes)(press F in planview). When you now look in the 'select room' window you'll see you have a fresh list of rooms below the ones you allready had.

By the way, don't put to many objects in the level, you need to leave empty slots for the anims. Otherways divide your level over two wad's and use a level jump.

That is very handy to know Pytr.....

Decky2000...... I know this is not going to help you now but, my current project is up to 126 rooms..... what I did was copy one of the pre-installed prj files with 200 rooms in it then deleted all the rooms bar 1 and the started my own prj with all the room slots free..... (renamed it etc.)

126 Rooms!!!! Sound like a potential level of the month winner to me.

I hope you sort out the problem. I checked the photos...very impressive. We would be happy to host your level on our site when it's ready. All you need do is send us the tom (preferably in a zip), we then add script and english files so your name and the name of your level appears in game and provide a load camera shot of somewhere sexy in the level. We also promote your level on forums and other TR related sites, and give feedback to you through e-mails sent to us, our monthly vote and you can even see how many times people have d'load'd your level thru our download counter

Thks a lot everyone... but that's the prob I already fix .. now my prob.'s that I can't put anymore rooms in the map or I cant create any new rooms. I got a slot for empty room to 200 and I left blank room bet. 1-99

Let say now I've 126 rooms and my level can be played w/o additional rooms. So if I add more room to 127 or 128 the tombraider4 'll crash while loading. Also, with 126 rooms the fly by sequences that was worked is now crash the game when triggered.

I've tried to go thru all the topic post here and think that may be, it's because I got too many animated texture or too many animation range. I got 5 texture for running water and 3 for still water.

Btw, I didnt put any objects or trigger too much coz I planed to put them all after finishing all the rooms first.

Guess I'd to try retexture my proj & cut down my texture use. If anyone's better solution, I'd be really glad.

Try Pytr's suggestion about splitting into two levels using the same wad. Use Josep Borrut's Tarragona level as an example, this uses two levels both in Catacombs. We have included the script and english as txt files so you can see how it was done.

I saw in the window of your PC level converter :
Object meshes:508, null:205

I don't think the number of rooms is the problem.(I worked with about 130 rooms in both levels)
But you can't go over 256 objects and then still you have to keep empty slots for the animations.
Did you start from scratch? Or did you delete rooms from an existing level? And if so..did you remove the objects first?

oh.. I see Pytr

so this mean that I already went beyond the limit then.
I thougth how to check this 's in level editor window some where above the color plate.. anyway, I forgot to check that for a while. So this object include light & trigger area on the floor? If so I guess, I really put too many objects.

Thks for ur advice, guess I've to split my level into two parts.

I'm sorry ..I was wrong,
The number of object meshes doesn't say anything, I checked it and they're all above 500. So it leaves you with checking the number of objects in the editor screen.
And Did you try your level with the original wad name?
