Does someone know if it is possible to make a Title level in the outdoors ?I've tried it but the uklogo.pak and the other screens (Load/Save/Options...) are not displayed correctly : the texts are transparent. I used Angkor Wat WAD and Coastal Ruins WAD, but no good results. Thanks in advance IP: Logged |

It should be possible. I'm assuming you made the necessary changes to your script file.....have you tried making new load/save/option screens to use with the new flyby?IP: Logged |

No, How do you make a new Load/Save/option... screen ? The only thing I've made is before the line "Level= DATA\Name,Number I put the following lines : Horizon= ENABLED Layer1= 128,128,128,-8 ColAddHorizon= ENABLED LensFlare= 250000,-32000,110000,128,96,0 It seems that Layer1 is the cause of the problem. I don't really know how to do yet.

I think I misunderstood your question...sorry about that. I think what you are asking is if you can make the title level (title.was) have a horizon and sky (outdoor graphics). Unfortunately the answer to that is no, since the horizon graphic has to be incorporated at the time the WAD file is compiled and that tool (the wad editor) was not included on the disk. If you are working with a WAD that has the HORIZON slot in the .WAS file, it will have outdoor capabilites. (Karnak, tut1, coastal, city, newcity and so forth) It doesn't matter whethter or not the horizon is enabled in the script if you don't have the HORIZON slot in the .WAS file.....Hope this helps.IP: Logged |

Thanks, what I wanted to do is to replace the Title level by one that shows Von Croy in front of Horus temple and, after that, show a background in the desert with tents and many other objects to let the user think that Von Croy is making researches for Lara. It would have been a good entry to my long story about Lara's return (not the real title...).
Anyway, I will put this level as a cut scene in the New game option and make a Title level w/o outdoors or try to make the camera always show the ground and never the sky. I don't know yet what to do. But your answer helps me to make a good choice for my long work. Many thanks.

Hey there another option you may like to try is using home made star textures, and animate them (thanx Reb for the idea) I've done this and it works well. It took bit of practice but mabey I can save you some time. start with a plus sign 3 pixels large copy it 4 or 5 times makeing subtle changes by 1 pixle at a time. use some solid black textures and don't animate every star. also be carefull of over saturation. hope this helps. __PARADOX__[This message has been edited by robbase (edited 03-13-2001).] IP: Logged | |
