I was wondering if anyone might know what the problem is here...every time I run the editor, it crashes. I can load it in, and load the textures, but I can't actually apply any textures - every time I do this I get this really unpleasant message:

WINROOMEDIT caused an invalid page fault in
module WINROOMEDIT.EXE at 0217:00445e07.

I am running in High Colour 16 bit, resolution 1024 x 768. Processor is 300mhz, memory 128mb. Does anyone know what might help here?

Try updating your drivers to DirectX8, or trying 24 or 32bit colour, although it should work in 16.

Hey, that's my error !

only i get it after starting up the editor, opens a screenfilling window that's completely black and then BEEP I get THAT error, seems to tell me it is missing a page though, but what page and how is it fixed so that i can instead of reading the tutorial actually try it out.

I'm giving up for now though, cause i've been at it since i woke up around 10am today and it's 8pm now so I go onto something else for a minute or two.

Anyway, updating drivers worked somewhat, it now allows me to play the game, but no luck on the editor, keeps crashing.

Maybe they should call it LevelCrasher ?

Maybe Arioch will know...?

Ok, but for me, since I've downloaded DirectX8, I often have an error with DDHELP when running WINROOMEDIT. Generally, this error doesn't occur the first time, but when I close the level editor and try to reload it. The only solution I founded is to reboot my PC.

When running level editor, I use WADMERGER, STRPIX, TRWEST and PAINTSHOP PRO 6. I don't even know if the error comes from DIRECTX8 or from the use of this tools or another bad OCX/DLL file???

Have you ever heard about this ?

----------------

I get this error ALL the time.

1. I run 5 Game setup - Change from Voodoo2 to Nvidia AGP and there is the error.
2. Run the 4 Game setup - do same as above results in this error.
3. Starting the editor - opens a BLACK window, then a BLACK screen and it pops up the error.

Installing DirectX 8 doesn't help and my Blastercontrol reports it's still running DirectX 7 after installing version 8 ?!

I think next ppl i'm going to bug is Creative, maybe they know about this and can make a driver update for it.

BTW, the level convertor works, it starts up anyway, maybe that's because it doesn't adress DirectX commands or my vid card directly.

Anyway I'm getting more and more convinced that my problem can only be solved by Creative, so I'll go there now.

Until laters

Thanks to everyone who replied...I will try getting the new DirectX to see if it works, though I suspect it may not (already using DirectX 8). However since I'm getting a new harddrive soon and Windows will basically be blitzed I have decided to leave it be for the moment if that doesn't work...and pray I can get it up and running once I get my new stuff!
