Ummm, ok...

I seem to get alot of: "are you running 1024x768 and 16bit" and "got the latest DirectX" and "do you have the minimum specs" questions.

Well, I'm running a Pentium 2-350 MHz, got 256 MB of RAMola's and I updated All drivers as specified, went to Creative.com and download Nvidia (TNT-AGP with 16 MB vid-RAM), Voodoo2 (also 16 MB vid-ram) and SoundBlaster LIVE drivers, installed the game AND the with it coming version of Direct X...
Game runs from my D: drive since C: is a 'bit' low on space, had to delete 400 MB worth of Lightwave 3D stuff to install the editor :'(
I run Win98, usually in 24Bit cause it suits my 19" monitor better, but for the past days in 16bit, Oh I forgot about my 20speed CD-ROM, that's tolerable right since the box says 4 speed ?

I dunno, tried deleting this and that, my system seems to get more stable after deleting 3 old versions of Acrobat reader and about 8 Cheetachat updates, but the editor does not get past a black screen after it opens it's fullsize window (also black btw).

Someone suggested finding a technical friend, but since I used to work for a International Computer company in the tech. department coincidentely I checked everything, every wire, chip even the power supply.

Everything works, everything but TRLE !

I just don't get it.

It reports an error after the black screen something like I find a invalid page...

I dunno, hope it's not a DLL, those are **** to fix, right Micro... ?

Anyway, I'll keep devoting blood and souls to Arioch and maybe he'll humor me and let the program work tomorrow...
almost midnight over here, think I'll find me bed.

Arioch, save me please !

Disabling my Voodoo2 ?

Excuse me, but when I setup the GAME and switch from Voodoo2 to Creative Blaster with Nvidia TNT (AGP card) I get an Immediate CRASH, maybe this is something for Eidos to look into, cause they support the GAME right ?

Would be nice if Tomb Raider Chronicles would Support my AGP card cause it outclasses the Voodoo2 card by miles and miles, except the GAME crashes when I want to use it.

Another annoying thing about the game is that I MUST re-configure my ingame controls EVERY time I restart the game, cause it defaults to Keyboard control and I MUST remap all the keys to my Joypad buttons, which is VERY annoying, especially if the flyby is over and I'm not done configuring the keys yet, the game simply locks up and I have to do a HARD reset (use the reset button on my comp.case).

I think Eidos has some patching to do on the game...

Ive had the same problem with TRLE. The exact same problem with the invalid page fault. I also have a PII 350, on a SOYO Apollo 133, and a TNT2 AGP. Suddenly (and for a while only, the program ran but only with another program in the background (either JUNO 5.0 or my Aureal Vortex Player) but suddenly that stopped. I bought the program for the TRLE and can get little to any help on my poblem from anyone. Welcome to the support void. All I can imagine, is that maybe the processor has something to do with it?

OK. I have an answer to this Page Fault! The creepy little bugger kept getting me too!. Check this out:

Firstly, I set my Hardware Accel. in the middle range, and my Graphics Accel. in the mid range as well. Also, I diagnosed my RAM. Turned out I had a slightly dead ram chip. Since my PC runs PC 100 and PC 133 I first tried it with PC 100 (128 MB). It works sometimes, but not always. But with PC 133 (128 MB) it runs fantastic!. Also, if you have multiple chips (64 MB and 64 MB) it will have more errors due to flow. Line up one 128 MB in your first Dimm, and your 64 MB in your other Dimms. It works well in 32 bit color as well as 16. Also make sure you have Direct X8.

ummm, ok
now 6 months since my original post.
In the meantime i upgraded my system to this:

AMD Athlon 1200MHz, Asus V7100AGP, win2k and now the game won't run anymore either.
Eidos refused to help me out.
I'm posting on my website a warning concerning Eidos support.
I gave them 6 months to help me, they didn't, so it's my right to tell the truth.

And the truth is: Eidos customer support is no support at all.
They say minimum config must be so and so and that is ALL the support i get loose from Eidos software company.

One person from Eidos argued that I should be glad they released the level editor, if it doesn't work too bad, no support.
I got the same responce when i told them the GAME doesn't work anymore, so the book Eidos for me is closed.

Nice going Eidos, i bought this game and it's 100% useless, like 75% of your software is useless, treat all your customers that way and soon you'll be extinct.

Cool, after trying a ILLEGAL copy of commando's 2 I bought another Eidos game, atleast that works. Still no luck with Tomb raider or the editor...

I ADVISE EVERYONE TO FIRST TRY A ILLEGAL OR BORROWED COPY BEFORE YOU FORK OUT MONEY ON A POTENTIAL USELESS PIECE OF SOFTWARE !

I currently own 1 Eidos PC game that WORKS, Commando's 2. Other Eidos PC titles are good for using as Beer coasters, the thingies you put your beer glass on to prevent stains on the table.
