Hey guys, just taking a break from creating/playing and got to wondering if you guys do the same thing.

When I'm trying to create a level (and sometimes playing other people's), I put the old headphones to my portable CD player on and listen to music. Seems like it helps me. I have certain music that I only listen to when I'm doing this. I was just wondering if you guys do the same and if you do, what kind of music do you listen to?

I truly understand the need for brakes. level design has consumed my life for about 6 or 7 weeks now, and i'm definetly geting a little burnt out. If I didn't have music going all the time things would be allot worse i'm sure.

Hi,

It is true that music helps a lot when building...
It might sound strange but the best music for this kind of exercise is the Tomb Raider's music itself. Not only the music from the games but also the adaptations from Marcus Trogen and friends...
What works well also is soundtracks (try Starwars!!!), classical (The Nutcracker, Tchaikovsky), and... techno! But it must be without lyrics otherwise it breaks the concentration (or the charm?).
What are your favorite tunes?

JB

Not quite the answers I was looking for. I guess I'm the only one.

Offspring, Ozzy, Metallica and Iron Maiden are just a few of what I sometimes use to get me going. I went through 6 (yeah really!) Offspring CDs last night while working on my next level. It works for me.

Great selection! I've got 'em all. Never tried listening to Floyd or AC/DC while making levels. Think I'll give them both a try next time I open up the level editor. I bet Back In Black would be great whilst mowing down skeletons and such! Thanks, dude!
