i want to have a flip map only trigger for about 10 secs but the problem is on the switch i have trigger it, it has a
trigger (0:0)for flip effect
trigger (0:0) for door
switch (0:0) for lever_switch
trigger (0:0) for flip map
and i also have a trigger trigger null mesh
so is there a way that i could have it only go for about 10secs? cause when i try it says cant overlap a special trigger


how do you get the gas can(from the city level) to blow up a fence shatter item which will then trigger a flipmap?

and lastly how do you get a flipeffect to happen ONCE and only for 4 secs, cause im usin the blow up sound (number 11) and it stays on untill lara moves off the spot. Thanks for all your help!

the only trigger there that you could put a timer on is the switch for switch trigger but I take it you want the door to stay open.

these are only suggestions.... I have not tried them but maybe you could put a flip-off trigger with a minus number in the timer field on the square adjacent to the switch and if its suitable, instead of using the flip-effect try using an earthquake nullmesh.... entering 888 in OCB will give you a 5 second quake.....

I have no idea about the shatter objects though... sorry

Nigel here is an idea
somewhere in your level maybe in a nonconnected room set up a slope and a boulder, trigger the boulder from the switch and make the slope long enough so that when the boulder gets to the bottom it lands on a heavy trigger to turn off the flip map

IT TAKES ABOUT 1 SECOND A SQUARE-DEPENDING ON THE SLOPE. IT WILL WORK, I'VE TRIED IT.

on tiny problem in the new city wad there is....no boulder. i also cant use and earthquake..it would look really weird
also what do you mean put the flip off trigger on teh adjacent square, i know about flip off triggers but how would that work? would it make the flip map go off in the number i put it on? thanks for all your help though.

Nigel..... putting a minus number in the timer field for a trigger means it will count down the specified number of seconds before the event you are triggering happens ONCE LARA LEAVES THE SQUARE....

so if for arguments sake you are using a lever switch, if you put the flip-off trigger directly in front of the switch, once lara has thrown it she will have to pass back over the flip-off trigger..... depends on your map of course though

ok have my flip room trigger, then i place a flip off trigger for -5 sec in the timer but lara runs over it and nothing happens, what am i doin wrong?

You have the flip-map under the switch and the flip-off near by?...... I would have hoped this worked but I havent tried it myself... so I could have led you on a wild goose chase.... sorry

I will do some experimenting and get back to you.....

Ok... have tried it myself and setting a timer has no effect..... you can still set the flip-off trigger but remember to put it in the FLIP-MAP.... NOT THE ORIGINAL ..... other than that, I dont know what else to suggest... follow some or the other advice here but use a baddie instead of the rolling ball?
