well I was only testing this tool.....but that, what I found out is, that is is VERY slow...so I have to wait some minutest for ONE mesh!!! And I couldn't even save...not because of an error only because ist is too slow! So I testet some dll's but it didn't change anythiong! Well this program seems to be similar to "RView" and with spechial dll's an more "ram" I got THIS tool faster! Or doest it have something to do with VB-runtimes????Fips :| ------------------ visit: www.tomb-raider-levels.com IP: Logged |

Hi, I was also testing this tool! and that what I 've found out is:1.its not slow on my computer,(I dont know whats wrong with your program, Fips) 2.ive put out my TR5 irl horizon right, but the horizon has wrong textured lines on its texture dividinglines. look at the screenshot: 3.and then I've aplied other textures on the switch type1 (from Tr5 too). But then the Level converter has a illegal operation and the converter chrashes. Tomo

It crashes by me too! The level editor won't show the meshes and the level convertor crashes. Another question, is it possible to get the texture (by clicking on it with a key)? I don't want to search the whole list for it. Or clicking on the tile list?IP: Logged |

>ive put out my TR5 irl horizon right, but >the horizon has wrong textured lines on its >texture dividinglines. Yes, some other people reported me that the textures miss the last lower and righ line pixel, however i did not not that problem in my test yesterday, so i will check it out if it is my fault. >but that, what I found out is, that is is VERY slow... Take a look again at my web site, i posted some notes about that problem in some computers. >Another question, is it possible to get the >texture (by clicking on it with a key)? I >don't want to search the whole list for it. >Or clicking on the tile list?
Yes Michel, you get the meshes full textured, then you just click at the polygon and strpix3 will select the texture on in and will let you the Id and even will show where in the whole texture page is located enclosing the texture with white frame, then you click buton to extract this texture to a bitmap, and the you can put it back after editing. you don;t have to search anything.About Wad file. ---------------- I OPENED WELL ALL Wad file included in the Level editor CD, but i don't garanty how strpix will work with "Custom" Wad file built with TRwest or Wadmerger or TR2wad. So, please test strpix with originals WAD files from CD first, this way i can know if the problem are some incompatibilities in custom WAD. If strpix crash when you try to open a custom WAD file, then try with a original WAD file first, if they open well then i guess custom wad has some minor incompatibilities. Thank for test strpix, i will keep looking here for more reports. good luck, Turbo Pascal.

I tried to import my own object done with ArchiCAD: with it I can save as DXF... I tried with objects done with autoCAD and finally with Rhino 3D.... I saved always as DXF... I always get an error message: I remember only this two:ARRE is not a valid integer value and: DAFE in not a valid integer value What's the problem? that is, I know that arre and dafe are strings and not integer, but why it happens this? I'd like to use my own objects, I saved right changing meshes with not too many poligons.... the objects I created have no textures, are only meshes.... what's wrong? please help me or update! ------------------ | |--->> psiko <<---| | IP: Logged |

Hi psiko.>ARRE is not a valid integer value This is a regional setting problem, in the sode world that i live we use "." (dot) for decimals values, in some others countries they use "," (coma). DXF files are plain TXT, and all vertex values use "." (dot) decimals separetor like 23.0000 instead 20,0000. Go to control panel and select "Regional setting" then chose "Number" and select "." (dot) for decimals symbol. Then build and import the DXF using this seting. Let me know if this work. Good Luck. T.P. IP: Logged |

ok, I did as you told me: but I had to redo again my object all from the beginning, couse it was still giving me two errors: the fisrt one message I don't remember, the second one was something like '' is not a valid integer value, where '' I thinh are two ' (but maybe one " ) Now the program does not give an error message, but it does not import the right meshes from my objects: if you give me your email or email me, I'll send to you the pics of my own DXF object done with Autocad and the wrong meshes that appears in the meshes window..... I saved my DXF object both for Aurocad 2000 and Autocad 14, couse I saw you used the rhino 3D, which now is only still able to export in AutoCAD 14 dxf files..... but it does not work for both versions..... please, do something! couse I think my objects are very interesting and beautiful, as you will see if you let me send to you the pics!------------------ | |--->> psiko <<---| | IP: Logged |

I Checked your DXF, they are full compatible, semms taht you used Autocad 2000, very well. However your table layer is wrong. How you will tell to strpix wich texture will have your created polygon? >but I found quite difficult to understand >the matter of the name of the layers... It's not my fault if you don't understand what the **** is a Layer and how is used in CAD program. But what you have to do is: -Select a Layer in your CAD program, - Rename it for a name like Texture_60 - Star drawing your polygons. - Save your work in DXF file. All polygons will have the texture #60 when imported tyo strpix3. Good luck,

Great piece of software!! Nice work Turbo Pascal. I use 3D Studio Max R3 and now I can create pretty much any object I like for my TR levels and import them so easily. My only problem with this software is that you can't just click on a texture to select it, you have to use the pull down box and that takes hours to get the texture you need. Appart from that, it Rulez!!IP: Logged |

thanx turbo pascal, I understand now! I re-read your instructions and now all is clear for me, BUT! I downloaded your new version of strpix and.... the meshes window is not visible at all, iether the textures window, and I cannot choose which kind of preview to have, and the DXF I imported in not seen! the meshes window does not show anything of my object! I renamed my layers as you said except layer 0 which is told not able to be renamed.....------------------ | |--->> psiko <<---| | IP: Logged |

>My only problem with this software is that >you can't just click on a texture to select >it, you have to use the pull down box and >that takes hours to get the texture you need. Yes, but i updated strpix several hours ago, now you can point & click the texture that you want in the texture windows and it will be selected!. >BUT! I downloaded your new version of strpix >and.... the meshes window is not visible at >all, iether the textures window, and I >cannot choose which kind of preview to have, >and the DXF I imported in not seen!
Yes, i recompile the program in 800x600x16 bit color and USING LARGE FONTS. Please change you screen resolution and font selection to large and all will be ok. >ok, well: now every layer has a name as XXXX >where XXXX is the number of the texture I >chosed in the BMP WAD .... but it is still >not shown anything in the meshes >window...... I suggest you to extract a mesh using DXF option and then check it out this DXF in your CAD program, look how the layer are named, maybe you are misspeling something. Good luck, IP: Logged |
