I visited a level page, complete with listings, author and ratings. I thought maybe I'd be on the list under Severi, Lara. When I wasn't I was like FINE and e-mailed them to ask if the'd put me on. Then I went back to the list and found myself!!! Yeah!!! Someone has rated me, yeah!!! I click to see the ratings and it makes me feel like everything I have done with the editor is a waste of time. WHY DO SOME PEOPLE HAVE TO OPEN THEIR GOBS AND KILL MY FEELINGS. WHY?Check out these harsh ratings below. (I just hope they don't rate my new level, because I love it soooo much and I'm dead proud of it). http://www.mprager.de/AbandonedVillage.htm http://www.mprager.de/SecretOrg.htm And there all rated by this "Sash" dude. What is his big problem. Leave me alone. Say things positive or don't say them @ all.

Don't get me wrong, people can have their nasty / nice opinions about my levels. Everyone has their own view.I guess I was sad at first because of the line "As the name says, this level is best left abandoned!" Ok, bye. IP: Logged |

Hey Lara, I hope this might help in some way.Remember, everyone has different taste. What one person may not like doesn't mean everyone will not like it. I did my first level and (as of now) have a 6 rating on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the best) I was surprized to get that! On my next level, the one I thought was great, I got rated a 5! I have seen some levels that were rated very very high and when I played them I was like, "How could this level get such a high rating?". Just because I didn't like it doesn't mean it is a great level. Please don't feel like what you are making is a waste of time. I enjoy playing ALL the levels whether I think they are a 1 or a 10. Hey, I can only play one level at a time and I don't think I have played any of yours YET, but I will. As for me, keep making those dudes and I will like playing them. REALLY! Some people like challenging stuff more than others and some like puzzles where I'm not that crazy about them. Don't pay any attention to what one person says. I encourage everyone to keep making levels no matter how they get rated. What might be fantastic for one person might be boring for another. I've learned (especially with movies) that you can't judge something until you have experienced it for yourself. Just because that person gave you a harsh rating doesn't mean anything to me. I will still download your level and play it. Well, I hope you don't stop making levels and I hope you can look over that "critic". It doesn't matter how any level gets rated. I will still download and play for myself. Again, please don't feel like you're wasting your time because you are not. ------------------ It's easier to get forgiveness than permission IP: Logged |

I agree with enter sandman. I know that my level Catacomb Towers wich i know youve played it already, is a very good level that i am proud of too. But i am not high on the custemlevels site. But i didnt know i had a burning thread on the german site, i read it and i was blown away what people had to say about my level. At some site i am number 4. And yes, i have played a few levels that where high rated and i think, gee, is that it? I havent played one of your levels yet but when my Black Palace is ready i am going to stop for a while cause level making is so much time consuming and i will see more of what other levelmakers did. Greetings piega...IP: Logged |

Hey Lara, don't get down. I just downloaded all of your levels, and I quite frankly like them a lot! You have a talent, and don't let anyone's comments drag you down. Yours are some of the best levels I have played. I have tried to make levels, but I don't have what it takes, I guess. Keep making them, so people like me will have more great levels to play!------------------ --=DalyTek=-- IP: Logged |

yeah that happened to me, and it makes me kinda mad, it was on http://www.tombraider-customlevels.fsnet.co.uk/ list and my levels....well they didnt do so well, and i think its great that they comment and rate levels but i dont think its very nice to the creators, pretty much they said you suck at level creating and cause of that i have no heart to finish my boat level or the new angkor level i started...Nigel http://network.tombraiderchronicles.com/tombraidernews IP: Logged |

Lara.... I am very dubious about the whole ratings thing. For now, It seems wide open to abuse. No matter how good your level is, there will allways be someone who dislikes it.... unfortunately... he was the one to rate it, but dont worry, according to the response here, dont be surprised to see your ratings change drastically in the next few days.I have just looked at the links you posted btw.... having played Micheals "Blue Sphere" level, any comments he has regarding texturing etc are best ignored...... ------------------ I WAS PRESSING THE DARN WALK BUTTON !! lara, I downloaded all yuor levels and enjoyed very much.... they are the best levels I played, with no errors, well textured, well linked rooms, and some of originality.... maybe they are not the best ever seen levels of TR, but are the best I played not ufficial... some others are well done, but I was bored and the places were with no "personality".... just rooms linked one another, with only one or two interesting things, or none. Keep on creating, and tell me where I can go to vote for you------------------ | |--->> psiko <<---| | IP: Logged |

Lara, You wouldn't happen to be fishing for compliments, would you? Anyway, the only level I've actually downloaded from any of the level pages was your "Underground Organization" level, and I did enjoy it. Actually, I sent you an email telling you that, but now I realize you probably never got the email because it was sent to your school address. Well, you'll see it when you get back to school, I guess. IP: Logged |

Hi! Thanx for the support.I was not FISHING for complements, I was just angry and sad at the rating and wanted to share my feelings with you. Like I always do. I think ratings should be banned, because peoples opinions differ a lot, people like / hate things for different reasons and its unfair on creators to show these comments all over the world, when thats how we are. If a view is nice we get big headed, if a view is bad we get sad and mad. It can push an editor in the total wrong way. And I don't want that, just like other editors. There should be an option on sites saying "Do you want your level to be rated by viewers" then editors can choose whether they want opinions or not. Oh Nigel, please keep making your levels!! PLEASE!! Lets show these "Raters" we don't need there stupid comments. IP: Logged |

HeyColin and I are both sceptical about rating levels, and as such where ever possible we try to aviod it, as we agree that what one person thinks is great does not necessarily go for the next person . That is why we let the number of downloads determine the position in the charts on our levels page. We also have a voting page for level of the month purely as a fun thing. It is hard when you are running a website which actually hosts levels rather than just linking to them, as you are limited to space. It is just as difficult for visitors to the site, when they go to our levels page and see forty levels available for download and don't know where to start, hence the charts based on downloads. We value your opinions on rating and you can rest assured that where ever possible we will continue to avoid it Carry on Creating IP: Logged | |
