Using TRWEST 2....

No matter what variation of objects
I mix together from the TR4 levels, the textures are not working/copying.
Always black, tried everything.
So they always come out invisible.

What am I doing wrong?
It isn't memory problems because even if
you just use one object from TR4, the textures are gone.

hmm...stuck on this one?
any ideas?

How are you viewing the objects? In the editor or StrPix3? If in the editor, then you MUST load a texture set as well as the object wad. If you don't the objects will be black. This has been my experience anyway. So far, with using TRWest V2, I haven't had any problems what so ever.

Well, I tried all the obvious things.
But none of that worked.
I racked my brains for a couple of days
and I found a problem.
Its the original TR4 data.
The version I have seems to have a different
format. The Files are half the size of the level editor versions. They are compressed
or I don't know what.
I realised this after the TIMES LEVEL objects loaded in with no problems and so did the LE TR4 files.

Can someone verify this on their TR4 game disc. Are all the TR4 files over 5 mbs?
Mine are all under 2mb.
So the textures are not in the TR4 files or something like that?
But the game runs so where is the program
accessing the texture info?

confused...

Hi, are you using the Mac version of the levels from TR4 when you get the black textures? If so, maybe you can send me one of the level files and I can figure out what is different from the PC version. TRwest converts the 32-bit texture to 24-bits, but there is also a 16-bit texture stored in the level. It could be that the Mac version only has the 16-bit or some else that is different, but since I don't have a Mac I couldn't say.

All the .tr4 files I have are around 5MB:
alexhub.tr4 3915KB
alexhub2.tr4 4625KB
ang_race.tr4 4242KB
angkor1.tr3 3940KB
bikebit.tr4 4879KB
citnew.tr4 4665KB
cortyard.tr4 4873KB
etc.

Right.
I think we are getting to the crux of the problem.
None of my files are the above files size.

Although I have bought all TR games I only have the PS & MAC versions of TR4. So someone just sent me the level
data for the PC TR4. I don't know its source.
I gave my MAC version to someone so I can't check right
now if this MAC data or not.

I will send you the smallest file I have though
so you can check it.
