don't worry about it, it's gonna happen very soon we don't need any help from eidos. I've got some lil fmv clips I've made as AVI's and converted to bink video. as someone pointed out a few weeks back, TR4 apparently used the bink format for the fmv's. I have no idea how to make the necessary script changes, but I know other peeps are working on that.

to all others who are working on this, I think it's time we start networking and sharing our secrets.

Let's make this happen!!!!! _Rob_

even if (BIG if) Eidos would release the models for making FMV's, you would still need 3D Studio Max, witch will set you back thousands of dollars

hey Driber_IF
there are ways around that, hehe
plus you can make your own models and accomplish this in other programs as well. (maybe not to the same quality as 3DSM), but it can be done.

also I just got your mail, and I'd be happy to link to you. I was looking at your Bryce art the other day, and I must say that's some dam inspiring work, but I tried to go back today and I'm getting a 404.

Cya soon I'll respond to your email as well In case you don't see this

tnx, glad ya like it
sign my guestbook please to let the world know wacha think of it!

that 404 was probebly due to an update that I've made, just hit the refresh button and it should work!

so what program ARE you using for making your own FMV's?
I do have 3D Studio Max (and character studio), but I'm not very familier with it, only made a couple of test images with the program

yeah what I'm doing is almost as much work as what the original animators of the 40's were doing, ( painting cells individually ), I'm a newbie with 3D art , and so far only familiar with rhino1.0. however I've made some pretty nice models, and realized that once I have a seen, I can take a screen shot, move something in the model (a hair). take another shot, move something again ect...
when I have enough frames, I string them together in animation pro3, and save as AVI.
now I can open the file in bink video, and mix in sound ( yes this process is a nightmare ), especially trying to sync up the sound and video, but it works. your left with a decent computer animation. so far I've just done a couple of star trek rip off ship flyby's, but I don't see why I couldn't open the lara meshes in rhino, touch her up a bit, and bring her to life the same way. Any ideas on making this a lil easier?

well, I do know that you can make 3D animations very easily with character studio (3dsmax), but you would have to take some time to get familier with the program (and have it ofcourse )
my niece is very good with 3d studio max and she took corses for the program
just with a little imagenation and a little skill you can create your own lara model out of a single block!

are those movies you made so far very large?
I'de like to see them and how it was done, should be fun
I'm on cable, so download time doesn't bother me
