you can get a demo from adobe.com
but someone mentioned that the demo version might not save, haven't tried it myself though------------------

Hi, I would suggest if you want something that will be almost similar to Photoshop, then you can't get better than the shareware version of 'Paintshop Pro'. I am not sure where you can get a copy, but if you type the name into a search engine you may find one.------------------

no textures can even try to make your levels look better...i suggest you give up------------------
