Rob, While trying to import the boat from Venice.tr2 into tr.4, i seem to have run into the same problem as Billy the kid a couple of days ago. I've been following youre instructions as best I can. I'm at the object properties screen, it reads as...ON LAYER 0: default OBJECT NAME: M000 MESH: 387 vertices 129 polygons boundiing box (-331.134, -213.914, -102.115) to (245.345, 987.567, 189.021) ON LAYER 0: default OBJECT NAME: M001 MESH: 252 vrtices 84 polygons bounding box (-31.215, 199.346, 66.7818) to(28.5771, 252.106, 126.134) MESH TOTALS: 2 meshes, 639 vertices, 213 polygons Anyway, the question is; is the by layer name, do you mean "ON LAYER" or "OBJECT NAME"?, and if you mean "ON LAYER", do I just make up a name or where do I get it from. If not, then then I'm lost. IP: Logged |

sounds like your in trouble, but this info may help. yes on layer name. this is where you must enter a texture name, so it reads something like on layer1: texture_127. this name simply points to a texture that will be used when you reimport to strpix., but it is necessary to assign one. here are the inherent probs with the boat: 1) no boat anim animation's in TR4 and they wont be copied into strpix also the collision factor, (I've had no luck assigning no collision to the side car slot). although it would still make a great prop in the game, your biggest prob looks like to many vertices. theirs a 255 limit in strpix. though importing into strpix will cut down a bit, I don't think it will be enough. please try any way, I could easily be wrong and would love to see you pull it of but I'd guess your going to see about 400 vertices when you import to strpix. good luck and don't forget there are plenty more objects out there...... -rob ------------------ Home of the newest addition to Lara's motor pool! Rob,O.K. thanks, I'll keep messing with it. Most of what you said, answers my next series of questions regarding animation and collision. The only other one would have been the sound. But these are moot points if I can't get the boat into the WAD. again, thanks for the help O' KEEPER OF ALL KNOWLEDGE. IP: Logged |
