Okay, it's all coming together now! I've got the Porsche model from "Need For Speed 5" imported into the NewCity.WAD to replace the motorcycle model. It's fully drivable (that was a major headache, let me tell you!), and no, Lara's head doesn't stick out of the top (that was a problem I had originally, now she just disappears once she gets in the car.)Here's the downside:
1. The car door doesn't open, so it looks a little funny when she gets in or out of the car.
2. Collision problems... because the Porsche model is obviously a different shape from the motorcycle, it tends to ride "through" the sides of walls. I'm working on this, but it will take some time.
3. No dynamic lighting effects.
4. I've had to blacken the windshields (as you'll recall, you could see inside the cars on NFS, but here that would just look goofy since there was no way I could make sit Lara in the car... at least not yet!) Here's the upside: 1. It's the full 3D model, meaning it's viewable from all angles with no problems!
2. I've scaled it to the right size for Lara's world.
3. Jumping over fiery pits in the Porsche is very satisfying! I'll let you know once I get around to posting this... still got a few minor bugs to iron out.
(Oh, by the way, I'm using the Porsche Boxster as my model. If there's a particular model anybody wants, let me know. I should be able to get it into any WAD that already has a vehicle... but no promises just yet.) IP: Logged |

I think it would ben better if you used the car from the 4 level of tomb raider 4.. The car show the door openand close when she get in..IP: Logged |

I agree,
as long as you maintain certain aspect ratios, such as wheel base and door positioning all animation's will work.
however this would be quite tricky as far as importing vehicles from other games, but a complete tear down and rebuild of the jeep would not be hard.
I've been thinking of turning that thing into a 56 cadilac convertible (or something of the like) for my next project. stay tuned...
