While perusing my archive of TR editing stuff, I came across several discs of editing tools that I don't recall hearing about lately.
What I would appreciate, is if someone could give me their feedback on these, are they totally obsolete, never heard of it, etc...
They are:
RVIEW
tr22
TRviewer
TRedit
TRitem
TRitem3D and E3dv15
trx
jack

There are alot more, but most are definately current. Are these worth keeping around?

a number of these tools are current, depending on the version you have.
Jack! I believe is the very first TR. editing tool used for ripping textures out of the early games, there are variations on it for ripping meshes and sounds also. I think Stefan has further plans for development. TR22, and TRX I've not yet heard of.
most of the tools you list are being developed for unofficial TR level editors. Turbo Pascal Is working on a new one now that will allow us to make levels for TR1 - TR5 games. I would hold on too them. I would love to get copies of what you have, especially if they are older versions for my online archive. though I haven't updated the tools page on my site in a while, when I do it's going to be big!
my ultimate plan is to get my hand on all of these tools, and the source codes when ever possible. so that future, and aspiring programmers including my self, will have something to look back on and learn from.

RVIEW - Is a room viewer/texturer/add lights. By Turbo Pascal. For TR1/2/3

tr22 - I believe that is an unfinished version of a TR2 editor (VERY old). It doesn't work either

TRviewer - Mainly for editing meshes and moveables with their animation in TR1/2/3 levels.

TRedit - ?

TRitem - Places items, enemies, lights, triggers, and many special things in TR1/2/3 levels. It can VIEW TR4 levels too. By Roy.

TRitem3D - The same as TRitem. TRitem was originally a 2d program, but now is 3d. When anyone says TRitem, they mean TRitem3d/38. By Roy.

E3dv15 - Turbo's level editor for making TR1/2/3 levels. Soon there will be released another new version with TR4 and TR5 support.

trx - Program by Roy that 'strips' all textures off a TR1/2/3 level. (Smaller downloads)

jack - Program by Stefan that lets you edit TR1/2/3 textures and VIEW TR4/5 textures.
