Hi everyone,

I'm glad to let you know that my first levels are now released. You'll find 4 long playable levels including the title one. Yes, the title is also a playable level.

It sould take from 8 to 10 hours to play !

I spent a lot of time building them and testing and testing and testing again...

You will find 2 versions : the first in french (french.dat etc...) and the second in english (english.dat etc...) + all the files coming with the levels. I'm sorry for the other countries, but I can only make french and english work.

You can read what you need to know in my updated home page :
http://magplusfr.tripod.com/Home.htm

The biggest files are stored in a french ftp server, so I hope everything will work. I was not able to upload these one into tripod.com (always refused).

I apologise for the size of the files, but, as I retextured every WAD, I had to upload the files coming from \graphics\wads\ directory. I made also 2 audio files for the title level and its playable version (9 Mb). Each level is from 2.2 to 3.6 Mb to download.

For more details on my levels, please, visit my home page. I hope you'll enjoy these levels. Tell me please your comments and your suggestions. I would be pleased to read them to improve the following levels to come.

Many thanx to TRWEST maker and all the people who helped me since the beggining of my work.

Have fun.

Can you see the load.bmp file when running ?
Can you see the title running or not ?
Is the first level crashing ?

Which files have you downloaded ? All or part of all. You should download ScriptEn.zip or ScriptFr.zip which contains script files, load.bmp and uklogo.pak. The audio files are important too. Then the level files (Part 01 to begin).

Have you got the 100.wav and the 101.wav placed in your \audio\ directory ?
If not, download them or create them with 104.wav and 105.wav by copy.

Did you try the english version or the french version ? Try the other one to ensure it works (if you use english.dat and want to download french.dat, simply rename french.dat as english.dat). Read all the instructions to know where to place each file. If after that, it keeps crashing, tell me back. I hope the problem is not function of your PC's capability !

The title level and the first one are large files in whiwh I've reached the limits. But it works for me, so...

Also, I don't really know if strings.h and objects.h are usefull or not. That's why I didn't upload them into my homepage.

Same prob here...

I downloaded EVERY file, and placed everything in the right direction.
The load.bmp loads, and then *exit* to desktop.

I think it's a script.dat problem, I will have a look at it right now.

It would be great if you find where the problem is. May be I got a wrong english.txt file.

Tell us what you discovered about this. I will try to make another script.dat files or let the sources of these .txt files up to my homepage.

I don't know if I should tell you how long I spent my time making this work !!! I did not really count, but I can say I worked hard since January 2001 and made many modifications with the new tools coming after (TRWEST for example). That's why I didn't put them to download before. I wanted them to be completely finished.

I am thinking about tips for my levels. But I don't really know how to do them w/o spending too much time. In English and in French !!!

But if you are stuck somewhere, send me an email and I'll try to help you.

Thanx.

Many thanx for your message. I appreciate it very much.

But...

Just wait for the others to come, I have many ideas and some surprises...

I hope to release for my story about 20 levels + a bonus level if you find the 8 golden stars hidden in secret zones.

I will upload the two following levels soon. I cannot say any date. Just be patient.

Magplus,

I just finished playing your levels for the second time and I found alot I missed the first time.

Just a couple questions:

1. Your last post explains why I finished with a gold star in inventory. But I also finished with a key, called "Garden's Key."
Is it part of an upcoming level?

2. I found 16 secrets between the four levels. Did I miss any?

3. Got the grenade gun this time :=) Still no bow or revolver - are they there or in future levels?

Thanks again for a tremendous game. I look ofrward to seeing what's next.

Hi,

- For the 4 first levels, there are only 2 hidden golden stars (1 in 3rd level and 1 in 4th level). The 2 golden stars in the 2nd level are part of the puzzle to ride the motorbike.

- Yes for the garden's key (for the next level).

- 16 secrets ? No, of course, you might have seen the number of these secrets in my homepage (20=6+6+6+2). So, one golden star is missing.

- In the 4 levels, you might found these weapons : Uzis (2nd and 3rd levels), Shotgun (3rd one) and Grenade gun (3rd one). No other one for the moment. I wanted to make the action a little bit more interesting, just because there are many medipacks to find. The following levels will give you other weapons.

Don't forget, if you want to know the place of the other secrets, or anything else, just email me.

thanx again for playing my levels.

Pascal

For those members who are having problems with the game crashing......... this all may depend on the power of your graphics card.... several people had the same problem with the first level of my "celtic Folly".... the actual .TOM file was too big and would not run...... it was a standard catacombs.TOM weighing in at just over 2.6Mb ..... most of the files in Magplus's game are over this. I had to split this level to make it accessible......
Could be the same problem..... ???
