I downloaded all of the TR4 wads. Then I opened TRwest and made a custom wad off of them. Then I added some objects like “rock 0” and played the game. Then I added all the animating and the animating_mips from a wad. Then when I try to play, the game goes back to my desktop before it finishes loading. I think it is because of an animation dependency. On the TRWEST page there is a chart of animation dependencies but there isn't a section for the wad that I am using. HELP IP: Logged |

Had the same problem. Where is your custom wad? I was creating a separate directory just for that wad and it did exactly what yours is doing. I copied over the whole original WAD folder from the graphics file as a back up and then wrote my custom WAD files into the original WAD folder. Worked fine. Seems you need to have all of the ten WAD files for each level you are using info from in the same directory.Worked for me anyway! If you got error messages when you saved off your WAD in TRWest then yes it could be animation dependencies. Don`t ignore those messages. ------------------ Will Gell Play my levels at... www.wgell.net Download Raid On featuring Lara... www.wflg.clara.co.uk/music/raidon.mp3 IP: Logged |

too many objects in your wad: try deleting as many as you can, expecially moveable objects, and all the static not necessary.the game crashes before to load as it tries to load all the animations. Afeter you have deleted some objects, if it starts to work again, it will probably crash again while playing it and lara activates a trigger, even a flipmap trigger: this is the same problem: too many objects in the wad. To understand if there are too many objects as a first not sure sight, you can see the saving message of trwest: it says how many bit for the textures you have used: try to not go up of 2.3 MB.... (this is a good limit, but some wads work even up to 2.6) but this is just a suggestion, cause it depends even from the beginning wad: the same custom wad can work or not, depending on the beginning wad. Believe me, I edited more than 50 completely different personal wads, even with my own personal objects. ------------------ | |--->> psiko <<---| | IP: Logged |

well, I read again your post: there can be another possibility. Have you imported some puzzle objects? cause if yes, you have to change the puzzles lines in the script for your level, with the puzzles lines of the reference wad. If the wad is a cracked wad from original CD of TR4, you have to decompile the script of the game (you can do it with TRwest) and put the corrispondent lines in the right place of your script and english txt file, then compile.------------------ | |--->> psiko <<---| | IP: Logged |
