Yes there is but you won't find it in the manual. We hope to be hosting the moveable block soon, in the meantime try our chatroom and online help, click on chat from our main page.

btw thanks colin, but I'm afraid your chatroom didn't seem to be working...either that or it didn't start after I waited for 15 mins.

this lil feature was simply omitted from the wads made available to us.

no longer a problem since we have outside tools capable of editing wads and replacing objects with our own.

I am working on a tutorial that will help instruct you to make your own moveable block, or any other wad object.

C you soon.

paulid when you click the link to open the chat box, you should first see a pop up window that will instal a program caled jIRC
on your comp, you will need this to run the chat itself.
also if your browser dosn't suport Java, there will be a problem (this is generly only the case with olfer browsers)

hope this may help

Firstly thanks alot to everyone for taking the time to respond. much appreciated!

Bob5, i must still be doing something wrong.
At first I kept crashing TRwest everytime I opened my tut1.WAD
I figured maybe block.WAD needed to be edited using TRwest version 2. So I downloaded that and now still seem to get the same problem.
something that may have affected things: using TRwest initially, i added the block.WAD to 'pushable object1 - not 5. I only realised my mistake when i was downloading version 2.

anyway, any suggestions... please let me know.
thanks again,
pauli ;-D

I E-mailed the tut1 wad with the moveable block to you. You probably already know this but make sure to save your wad with a .was extension. If you were going to save the file as tut1block you would save it as tut1block.was

hey everyone,

I have downloaded the block and I am trying different things so you can stand on it. Without any luck!

In the OBJECTS menu, in EDIT OBJECT, you can do somethings, in the manual it says

"A window pops up for selecting the objct you wish to edit. Once selected, the Edit Object box appears. You can set a block collision (in quarter block increments) on the object selected allowing Lara to stand on the object"

this is on page 102

anyway, i was fooling around and nothing happened. I don't really understand what "in quarter block increments" means and maybye someone knows. And they could fool around with it a bit. There are different options tht you can have but nothing seems to work

This might be the way to have a real block in our levels.

see you guys later

aktrekker, Driber_IF, DUDEcroft, bob5, psiko, robbase & Colin Grigson....

I've also been trying to use 'Edit Object' to set noCollision "...allowing Lara to stand on the object..."

no luck yet.

Is this a subject that has been discussed before?
Anyway, I suggest Someone starts a New Topic on the forum so that we can deal with this issue. Like Dudecroft, I too would "like to have a real block in our levels".

Unless someone has the answer already??????

peek aboo!
