Can i change textures of wad objects?

What i want to do is change the textures on a door so it matches the surrounding textures. Is it possible and if it is what tools would i need to do it? Also where can i find out how to create my own textures or modify existing textures in a paint program, [paint shop pro7 to be exact]. Thanx in advance. IP: Logged
