Well, I guess it's not going to happen after all. A while back I had posted a message on this forum stating that I was working on a Porsche for Lara, after having imported the object model from Need For Speed 5. Unfortunately, my hard drive started acting bizarre soon after that posting (which is why I haven't dropped by in a while), and I eventually lost a ton of data. Although I managed to retrieve some of my files, the Porsche has gone the way of the dodo. I'm not about to start over. Sorry if I got anyone's hopes up. IP: Logged |

Actually, the truth is, there was never going to be a Porsche, was there? Since most people on this forum probably don't know, let's set the record straight. I've known "April" for about three years. Nice kid, and extremely intelligent, but she's only eight years old! She does *not* know how to program! C'mon April, fess up! IP: Logged |

Hey, David, I guess we're online at the same time! I see you finally grew weary of the "Trocinth" moniker, huh? (see, we can both play at exposing each other's deepest secrets!) And no, people, I am not eight years old. I turned 10 in May. And yes, I do know a bit about programming, though I guess not quite enough to import the Porsche. But I did try! Really!! IP: Logged |

Thanks for the confidence in me... though it may be a little overly generous! But summer vacation's coming up, which will give me a lot more time to pursue the Porsche again (or maybe a Ferrari for Colin... we'll see.) As for now, I think I'll stick to just using the editor and WADs as they are. As always, you guys are the coolest! IP: Logged |

#1. I am too old and cynical to believe there ever WAS a Porsche coming#2. I am too old and cynical to believe a 10 year old is developing code #3. I am too old and cynical. ------------------ How can I be dead already? IP: Logged |

I also am old and cynical, but I have been suprised over and over by the intellect of our "children" (absolutely no offense intended to anyone). My own ten year old is begining to develop quite a knack for computers and my twelve year old teaches me a thing or two on occasion! Now we all know that there are other 'gifted' kids out there; Turbo pops to mind in a flash, to name only one! So why not? Maybe for her eleventh birthday, we'll see a Mustang...er...Ferrari. Writing code could be a mere week away, who knows? ------------------ IF YOU NEVER GROW UP, YOU'LL NEVER GROW OLD! IP: Logged |

Tommy wins the 'obscure reference of the day' award! Congratulations!!I know there are some gifted kids out there --- I also know there are kidders and there are the deceptive. Sometimes it's hard to know the difference. I take greatness from its source, no matter the age/color/race/creed/etc. How old is Turbo, anyway? ------------------ How can I be dead already?
