I get an "illegal opperation" error when attempting to "Build all" in the level converter. What's wrong? I followed the tutorial's instructions to the letter to output a wad (except I saved in my own file, rather than under tut1). Any answers?

k, it sounds like that when you go to output the WAD, you need to go and output it as TUT1.TOM, then you can build it.
Come to my site: http://www.geocities.com/hicho15/Lpage.html
to get custom WADs and Projects!

The level converter takes the name of your .TOM file and uses the same name to look for a .WAD, .WAS, etc. You have to output your "wad" with the same name as the real wad files, in graphics\wads.

So...I DO have to save and output under tut1.wad, right? That solves the tutorial problem, but what about future projects? My own original stuff later on? Will I have to output in whatever wads I was using?

That is the normal method. You can always rename all of the wad files, or make copies.

It is a lot simpler and makes for smaller downloads to just use and overwrite the existing toms. You can still name your level in the game to make it yours.
