Please could we have an updated version of the Level editor, or even just a patch maybe...... Below is the following additions that we would like. (other forums users please state any ideas or updates that you would like to suggest for the Level Editor.)The main thing I would like is for a more stable Level Editor, and I would also like to be able to rotate my fully textured level in the 3D window without bombing out of the level editor. I am now running a PC with 1Ghz intel processor 256mb ram and a 64mb Radeon graphics card and it is just frustrating that the Level editor does not take any advantage of this.

I totally agree about the moveable block (especially one that you can climb on), and a better range of bad guys. I mean there are only so many times that you can use scorpians and crocs! It would be nice if you didn't have to get extra baddies off the internet. I think they should include some of the bosses.IP: Logged |

How 'bout a patch so it can support TRC wads and levels? How about being able to convert a prj 2 a tr4, instead of going from prj 2 tom 2 tr4? Or maybe cutscene and fmv support? cutscene and fmv creating software? software for converting a bmp 2 a raw (just plain ol' "paint" doesn't work....) tga file viewer? object editor? I could go on like this for years! ------------------ DOWNLOAD MY NEW LEVEL, THE ICE AGE!!! http://www.geocities.com/tomb_raider_levels/ IP: Logged |

Yeah, i agree with you on that. Some kind of update is needed to allow objects from previous TR games to be used . I use the Unreal editor "UnrealEd" which is constantly being updated with new features, i'm sure Core/Eidos could supply us with a climeable /pushable block and some wads from previous TR games. What does everyone else think? I'm afraid i agree on NONE of this... Sorry but this editor was given to us for FREE and wasn't EVER mean't for our use. And as the Editor's manual has stated many times... They do not support it in ANY way. Basically... Just be glad you even got this.------------------ Time is Forever... TR WAD's and More Here: http://members.tripod.com/tr_central/ IP: Logged |

YES, and I want to make "neu" OCB codes, so that I can tell the LE with which anim the AI should beginde!!! (like jump an crouch!! and so on...)And if I go on "preview" that I can really play with lara, so that I can test the rooms better....do you know what I mean? FIPS

I agree with what you say Sage, but if you don't ask....................Besides, I don't know wether you noticed or not but TR Chronicles was half the size that Revelations was so if it were true that the editor was free, then I think I am owed some of that green screwed up stuff !!! ------------------

I have to totally disagree with Sage. I mean, yes we've all read the bit in the manual that says that they don't support it. But it's like giving a kid a toy for Christman without the batteries! Don't you think?IP: Logged |

I think it would be cool if the editor came with a small animation program for events. I'de like to completely create my own baddies and there actions, I'de like to be able to create my own explorer at times. Lara's the best but I think it would be pretty nice to have the option to make my own character. I'de like to create my own weapons. Melee as well. A mini gun is in order I think. Creating objects for Lara to interact with would rule. Like the shelves in Chronicles. Think of Lara chillin' in a chair untill you hit action again and she gets up. Pointless, but at least I had the option to create it. I could go for ever. But I do think there should be an upgrade and some new tools. With out a dought.IP: Logged |

I think we should be able to create our own cutscenes. I mean, you can buy programmes that you can make your own animated movies with, and I think that Tombraider isn't the same without one. Even if it is just Lara talking to someone.IP: Logged |

I could understand Eidos / Core not wanting us to produce stand alone TR games, but all I am asking is that we get a more stable editor at least........at the last count, I am on save #57 on Tower Bridge 2.------------------ All phenomena possess two natures That which is revealed by correct perception And that which is induced by deceptive perception. Sage of Time is right. It is mission impossible. We are not the only forum to send petitions for new stuff from Eidos. And it is not the first petition during last months. All these petitions have given nothing and will give nothing. The engine of TR1-5 will not be modified because this chapter is already closed. Eidos is working on new one now and I am sure nobody at Core will waste precious time updating, patching and developing what is already the history. Do realize Eidos does not support this editor anymore. So you’d better enjoy what you’ve got instead of reaching for the pie in the sky. No chances you can get it. But you can dream you can... Sorry for tuff words but that’s reality.

IN the back of the tomb raider chronicles, it says that the tomb raider level editor is included. That means it was free with it. DUH!!IP: Logged |

I don't think you all understand.... It's not a matter of want or not. This was given to us and we either except it or we don't get anything. And yes it was free. They could have sold this for $50 without TRC. But no TRC was what costed $50 and we got the editor along with it for free. And they DO NOT support it nor will they do anything about it. Also i don't think you get another thing... If you want something bad enough you should just program it... That may sound harsh but... It's all true. Now i'm not saying it doesn't need improvments... I'm just saying they are not going to happen. And that this was never mean't for our use anyway. So basically... If you don't like it get over it.------------------ Time is Forever... Well... We can dream about a lot of things...But for now I would be happy with: An OCB chart with all LE included objects and their settings... It´s a big pain to discover it by ourselves! You know: place object, type an OCB code, output WAD, covert, play and discover it did not work... It wouldn´t take so much time for the guys at Edidos to make it! OCB CHART PLEASE!!! IP: Logged |

*sigh* (you are all quitters...)Why can't we do some of these things ourselves? I've changed my #1 basic TRLE need to a particle patch (rain + snow). *sigh* ------------------ The matrix: Reloaded Coming in christmas of 2002! IP: Logged |

I love the editor personally, the only thing I want new for it is a better AI and new wads and those things are a reality now. The only thing that really upset me about the editor was the manual, I know it would have costed them a fortune to make an actual book to read while you're making your level instead of switching back and forth from the Acrobat Reader to the level editor, but I would have definately paid more for an actual book. I would be hapy with these little things: -ability of puting rain and snow falling on the levels(I know this is hard coding) -A wad editing tool without bugs -A cutscene editor -Wads from all TR games------------------ Keep visiting Tomb Raider Level Editing: IP: Logged |

we are talking about this but they have to work so very hard. all wads from all tr-games forget that. I think they would never release these. Else are the past tr-games nothing anymore. because= every body can creat the same thing as core. Core havent got the situation in their hands anymore if this will happen. And may be if we are lucky the next generation contains something for the leveleditor.

Besides, Sage, do you work for eidos? How did you come across all this sales/marketing information? What would eidos gain by giving away a product?? You know nothing about their marketing strategies. If Eidos doesn't get user feedback, how will they be able to build a better product in the future? IP: Logged |
