I have a few questions, and feel free to answer to any of them:

1.) Some people have levels with like a whole bunch of different sets of textures (like india, costal, and city in one). How do you do that?

2.) Is there a way to have 2 object sets open instead of one?

3.) Can you make your own objects? If so, how?

4.) Anyone know a website with easy instructions on creating a cutscene with the FlyBy camera?

5.) Anyone know a website with lots of downloadable TGA Texture files?

6.) What exactly does your level need in order to be converted into a playable level?

7.) Anyone know a website where you can download nature-like objects such as trees, palmtrees, grass, plants, flowers, etc???

8.) What are the restrictions for making your own textures.

I'd really appreciate some input and advice/answers.

Thanx People~!
BRIAN

For the textures there is a program called texture builder that you can use to combine textures and make a whole new set.

You can't have more than one object set open, but there is a program called TRWest that you can use to take objects from one WAD to another. I hope this helps :P

1) and 8) Textures are divided into Tiles. Each tile is 64 pixels square. The TGA file must be 24-bit color, and be either 256 or 512 pixels wide. You should never go over 256 tiles in a single TGA. The color R=255,G=0,B=255 (bright magenta) is transparent. If you have a tile with every pixel transparent, the Level Editor stops loading tiles.
Just about any paint program (except MS) will let you cut/copy from several images and paste into a single image. You have to make sure you cut/copy from a 64-pixel boundary in multiples of 64 pixels, and paste on a 64-pixel boundary.
I haven't used texture builder, but it knows the size of tiles and makes sure everything lines up for you.

2) No.

3) Yes. Use strpix to export the object mesh and textures. It writes DXF format. Edit the mesh with a CAD or 3D Paint program. Edit textures with any paint program. Use strpix to import them back into the WAD.

5) Don't know any with TGA specifically. There are lots of site with graphics. Do a Google search.

7) Don't know of any sites that provide them for free.

6) Start with the manual, and actually go thru the tutorial. It helps.

about the texture tiles, ALL YOU NEED IS TEXTURE EDIT! just find it in here:http://home.acadia.net/userpages/vagrant/progra.html

i think that's where you can find textuer edit, im not sure......it is the best texture maker!

about the flyby cameras: READ THE MANUAL! lol, it's the best source, just search in adobe acrobat for "flyby" and keep searching until you find the parts with the stuff you want!:-)

about the nature-like objects: nope no sites are like that, except maybe MY SITE! well, not now anywayz, but check it out, it's got some other good stuff in it, more stuff coming soon ;-)
