Is there a way of turning water into quick sand, like in the first level of TR3? I know you can turn on toggle optacal capaity 2, and create the appearance of quick sand, but can you make it so that lara can't swim in it but has to walk?

Yes, there is such a possibility to make it. It was Serpentstooth who made it first. He released demo prj. for the mud on his site (http://serpentstooth.50megs.com) a few months ago and some other interesting demos but unfortunately his site is down for some time.
Maybe I still could have this demo somewhere on my hard disc. I have to check it.
