HERE'S THE PROBLEM! **THERE'S A LETTER "D" AT THE LOWER RIGHT PART OF MY SCREEN!! WHAT DOES IT MEAN? TAKE A LOOK AT THIS SCREENSHOT! HOW DO I GET RID OF IT OR CONTROL IT?

That's the little speedometer. It just says that your in Drive, and when you go reverse, it says R.

If you remember from the game. There was a D in the bottom corner with an arrow to show how fast your going. There's no arrow but just a D. You can't get rid of it (I think). It's not a problem with your car, it's just a problem with the editor.

press the dash key to make it go backwards, and shift key to make it go forward

yeah the D means drive like R means reverse, although does anyone else lose the speedo when lara drives the bike or the jeep, sometimes it flashes up on screen when lara gets off the bike, maybe its just a bug with my voodoo 3dfx card who knows
