PLEASE HELP ME I'm ABOUT TO DIE.(and that wouldnt be good)... does any one of you poeple know of METASEQ!!!!!its a cad program... it is good and FREEEE but i cant put my object i made in a WAD File (i use strpix) AND I'm ALMOST DEAD... CAUSE I've BEEN TryInG For To LONG ANd I'm VeRY MAD.....

its called metasequoia, look it up on the internet, it will take you to its webpage (mostly in Japanese!) where you might be able to download a free version.. later...

Make sure you choose 3d studio \ soft/x \ lightwave 3d \ rhinoceros (could be more) in the "Axis" table when you're saving your models... but i'm not sure that this is the selouting to your problem.. but try that...

When you save back to DXf use this setting.

Also you must have to click on "swap xy" buton.

Note about the "multiply" dialog, if you opened a DXF with Metasoquia then the model was rescaled for 1.16 so you must have to put this control to 0.16 for rescaling back the model.

If after importing the model ton strpix3 you just get a black screen, then probably you model is to big ,so you need to zoom in so you can be able to see the object in the window. be sure about dimension about your model, remeber that a TRLE square in the level editor is 10.24 x 10.24 size in your CAD program. (if the model was not re-scaled).

Don't fotget to download lastest Strpix3 3.5 Rev 1.

hey turbo... if u already helps people...
i've a problem too, my object i create and import using strpix becaume very dark in the game even when the room is very bright.
DOES IT has something to do to the strpix or the cad program (i use the METASEQ - something...)

To Doron, that was a 'bug' in version 3.4 rev1 of STRpix.
You should download the newest STRpix (3.5 rev1) at http://www.trww.com/turbo_pascal/Strpix3.zip .

Than just select the mesh you talked about, export it to .dxf, and then reimport it. Now the light-problem should be fixed.

Thank you for trying to help but it seems that the problem was withe srtpix 3.0 to,
and besides, when i'm importing object to strpix3.5 it says:
access violantion at address 004039DB in module 'STRPIX3.EXE'. read adresss FFFFFFF

well, anyway, like you see it's an error, but what should i do?????

Most likely your are trying to import a custom model with too much polygons. (rectangles or triangles)

You can't import a whole house or whole Car over a mesh. there are some limits, please
read the readme file.

To Trlestuff

Seems that your object size is correct, but YOUR CUBE IS NOT CENTERED, it is so far away from the center, so you can't see anything in strpix3.

I was clear in the readme file, PLEASE, CENTER YOUR OBJECT AT THE CORDINATES 0,0,0. 1

also note tha the layer name is incorrect so your cube will have not textures after import.


i sent you back the cube.

When you open/save the DXF in metasoquia, at the import dxf dialog click the button "invert YZ" control.

Also, please, check the size for your custom object, one guy sent me once a DXF with a object about 400 times biger that Lara!!!. remeber to use 10.24 unit sizes for each square in the TRLE.

when build object, please always check :

- Layers names.
- Object sizes.
- Object position.
- Amount polygons used.
- Correct 3dfaces DXF file selected.


Please, before start building your custom object, learn how import/export DXf using correct DXF extracted from WADs files.

thanks turbo, but even when i'm importing the same object i exported from the strpix
i get the error: access violantion...
there is anything else causing this problem?

Is this cad program in english?
I dowloaded it and opened it, and all I could see was symbols instead of letters.

I had no problem on the models. But i wonder why it isn't recieving lights like customised lara does. and i wanna know that if there is a way to remove the 'magnetic force' which blocks lara to pass though the orginial object. Thanks. BTW, when I import a transparent texture (ie TEXTUR_0831_3_1) the transparent data isn't imported into strpix... it was a nightmare to retexture it you know...

i dont know how to do what you're trying to do geckokid ... but netslider..... when you start it up there should be a window that pops up and you can pick a languege.... if there is no window i dont know what to do!!!!!

I sent you back a file called fex.dxf, it is your Cube well centered, i opened fine in strpix. did you try to open that file??

If you are using Strpix 3.4 or above and
If you open a original WAD from CD, and you export and import back the model, then there is not reason for crash strpix3. I guess that your problem is your video card. dissable all hardware features and try again.

It should work for any model, i tested with vase in tut1 and work fine, try with other objects.

most likely this is a bug in the imported rutine, i will check.

I mean it doesn't recieve lights other than lara emitted. ie gunfire, flare etc.

problem with the 2nd one is that it saves DXF in the 2nd format and not the format STRPIX is using!
