I already have a wad that I created with TRWest I just need step by step instructions on how to edit the editor files so that I can use the new wad and play my level that I make with the new wad. On my last post I was left in the dark after following some peoples instructions and im going to have to uninstall the editor and start from scratch again because now it wont even open up.
It sucks that I have to beg for help and then get wrong or incomplete info so please be descriptive where possible....Thanks

Ok..... first decide which wad you are going to use as a base (one that you are gonna use most objects from). create a temp folder and copy all the files or the selected wad into it. Rename them to whatever you want to call your wad. copy them back into the graphics wads directory. now open Trwest and open wad for editing.... (the one you just made obviously) add, replace, delete whatever you want till you are happy, then save. your WAD is now ready to use but you still have to make changes in script. open the script folder then script.txt.... find the block of text that relates to the wad that you copied and select it. copy it. now if you want your level to be the first one on the level select list (in-game), paste the block into the first position in this script.TXT file. now change the line that says name= and put in the name of your level. If you have added puzzle items from other wads to yours, you will also need to add their script lines from the relevant block.....
save the script.

Now open english.txt and erase a name that you know is not used in the editor and over write it with your level name .... this must be exactly the same as the name used in the script.txt. save again

go to DOS and run the script script.txt command. (check the manual) exit dos and return to the script folder.
copy and paste (overwite) script.DAT, English.DAT and strings.h into the TRLE directory.

Now load your .PRJ and then load objects. select the .WAS file you have made. save prj and output the wad. convert your new .TOM file and your level should now be selectable from the level list.

Good luck
