You must first find out which wav is taken for the gung sound then replace it with yours. The format has to be exactly the same or else it won't work. Then just make an new sfc and sam file with pcwadsfx.exe (It's explained in the manual). The sounds.txt says whats the name of the wav for each slot and the volume and it contains the parameters for which wave shall be taken in a sfx file with which parameter. The parameters are explained in the manual. if you say TU in the MS DOS pcwadsfx it puts all the sounds in the sfx file which have a #TU in their line.
If you say : pcwadsfx coastal(This is the name that the sfx and sam file shlall have)#k
Then all slots in the sounds.txt with a #k in their line are taken in the file
#g means that this sound is taken into the sfx no matter which parameter is used in the ms-dos.
But don't use every wave in a level. I tried it but it crashes.
