i have a little idea on how to do it. i think you have to1. create a room (obviously) 2 create a seperate room and connect them together. 3. the 2nd room should be 4x4 clicks to fit the texture of a clear window thingy 4. set a sun light in the 2nd room with the axis facing towords the 1st room i dunno. more help please!!!!! Hey, the sunlight effect is not... an effect! It's an object that you'll find in catcomb.wad for example. I don't remember which number it is but it looks like a multicolor waterfall. Once you find it, place it on a square as a simple object and elevate it to the ceiling to match it with a window tile... Is that what you wanted? JbIP: Logged |

Yes, the sun effect of course is an object. Itīs on Catacombs, Sethtomb, etc. WADs. You just place it in your level as any other object. You can also place a spot light in the same direction to enhance the effect. Now I have a question. In levels like Coastal and Angkor, thereīs the lens flare effect. Itīs not troble to have it working, but I would like to know how to make it work only in certain rooms. I mean Iīve seen levels where this effect was showing through walls, in any place, in most rooms, even internal ones. Look at Coastal for example and youīll see the effect only in the main big open area... IP: Logged |

Actually if you press the 'look' button and a directional key in MOST Coastal rooms the effect will appear. IP: Logged |

The solution is very simple. In the rooms that are not ment for the sunlight effects the outside button is off. The sunlight effects are only visible with the outside button on.IP: Logged |

And for keeping the effect from showing through walls in an outside room, just donīt build any walls in front of it, right?IP: Logged |

If you want a special ceiling (or floor-wall). You'll best use on object made with a CAD prgram. In your case you have to make an object that when placed on your ceiling takes form of the rest of the slope. You texture the bottom of it with the disired texture (that contains opacity). The object opacity is as good those on doors and not so as ugly as those on walls. I used this technique to get slopped walls:
