I know French and English. I am learning Russian right now, and it's the most difficult language I have ever studied. I am also fluent in Ancient Egyptian, both reading and writing it.------------------ http://www.geocities.com/hicho15/Lpage.html IP: Logged |

That's really great we all speak so many but I have one thing to say, as being a native-English speaker and all, why are people saying fluidly? Everyone here says fluently. I don't maybe you guys say it different, but in the States I am almost positive because I hear it every day, and I hear fluently! Just saying, not starting anything Alexis, parles-tu français? Moi aussi, et je l'apprende. C'est trés difficile parce que les gens parlent rapids. (rapides?) ------------------ http://www.geocities.com/hicho15/Lpage.html IP: Logged |

Kiopo, do you mean you're calling Arabic ancient Egyptian? Or that you know both Arabic and ancient Egyptian. Well, if you're refering to the first, then Arabic isn't Ancient Egyptian. Arabic and ancient Egyptian are totally different. Arabic was devolped after the Greeks overtook the Egyptians and ancient Egyptian was used from 5000BC to about 300 AD and so they're very different. Plus ancient Egyptian uses hieroglyphs and Arabic doesn't!Sorry to get all technical on you, but many people think Ancient Egyptian is Arabic, that just gets to me. ------------------ http://www.geocities.com/hicho15/Lpage.html IP: Logged |

Yup, Brad's right!! The Arabians languange often used double consonant for a syllabus and it has the same similiarity with modern day Egyptian language. I practically learn those Arab words for my reference material in Islamic culture. Just like Mandarin and Japanese, they have a lot in common especially for those called Kanji, they are homographic yet still have different pronounciation (In Mandarin, a different intonation could make a word means different entirely!) Oh, Dhama if you wanted to learn Japanese you could start by using a translation program, learn a few Katakana and Hiragana (& Kanji) then get a Japanese book or go to some Japanese site, or maybe play a Japanese game, after that write those Japanese words to a piece of paper, read them everyday. Dictionary works well too. I learned (or learnt) Japanese this way and you could even (fully) read a poster within a week!! Good luck! IP: Logged |
