Someone please, i beg of you create a program that can reverse the process from tom to prj files. please!

what? what you mean?i think the most needed program is a object collision editor, and animator ------------------

don't panic as long as you have the tom, 10 years or so you'll have a program which converts toms back to prjs! j/k------------------

For the moment, it's hard to do. I know a lot of the PRJ file format, but not enough to create a prj file from a tr4 level.IP: Logged |

My level is gone forever...got that "EVIL: Unknown object type detected" message... I agree with Tomb_Raider_Nut: PLEASE CREATE A PROGRAM THAT CONVERTS TOM TO PRJ!!!! ------------------

Very serious question.
If such an tool becomes reality, it may be the Death of any creativity. So everybody is able to steal the famous ideas from every Leveldesigner. On this way itīs easy to decompile an tr4 file, look what to do in the Level - the fun to play any Level is killed. So i hope nobody will write such an tool. If so, I, also many others, have to protect our Levels against decompiling.
@Michiel : Better to stop creating any prj-tool, it opens any door for stealing.

I completely disagree with this thought, as if we had this program, people would learn from others creativity, adapt onto it, and make it better! If anything, this tool would increase peoples knowledge of the editor, and spurn on creativity. I'm with the creation of this program.IP: Logged |

I have had this idea for ages. Its quite simple really, If you log the activities that go on when the Level Editor Outputs the WAD, all you need to do is the reverse effect of that. I'll make it if you like, but I am working on the FMV/Cut Scene thing first.------------------

I have an idea!
Simply create a level protection tool!!!
With such a program, you cannot steal levels if the authors doesn't want to!------------------

I didn't realise we were competing with each other, I thought we were all in this because we like TR. I say, "Stop competing and help other level creators who can learn through our mistakes".

i disagree with tijay too. what i think is the reviewers will know that they are stealing stuff and lose trust on that designer. however to make a good level, why not copy sth interesting from every level (better be offical ones )? it'd be fun.sorrry i am very tired from the 3 hour-swimming, dunno what i wanna say (or i know but can't speak out).... ------------------

Most people release the .prj with there level anyway don't they?? I'm gonna release the .prj for my level...------------------

Some computers have a Goback think. Its a program that reverts you hard drive to a time in the past 30 days. I doubt you have it but if you do then you might be able to get your level back. I got an evil error on my project so I reverted my hardrive to goback 30 minutes and my project was back to normal. IP: Logged |

I already have protection for tr3 levels in flooredit2. If you lock it, it won't open.
To hteS: If you still have that broken prj, please mail it to me. I fixed that problem on my own level too, but I haven't created a program for it yet.

No i don't have any program that'll cahnge the files to an earlier (i think). i'll have to ask my dad. but kiopo go ahead and create the program, i don't care how long it takes, so long as i get it.

I think you'll find that it backs up important system files and the registry. A program that does what you say would have to back up the harddrive everyday in a different slot and wouldn't leave you much change out of 30 harddrives with 10gb capacity each....

I too would like a deconverter program, but as for stealing each others ideas is stupid and selfish we dont get any money for making these levels and we could indeed learn from each other, but if someone did copy a level change it around slightly and post it as their own is criminal .
And lastly if we posted the prj files them selves it would save ages on download time !
