Hi there

I need some help with replacing doors etc with other textures please.

What I mean is that I want to modify a door'x' or shatterable type object from a wad to have the opening / breaking characteristics but have my own texture.

I need to resize the door / window also.

I think I read in a thread that you use TRWest to do this?

I'm after a breakable (with or without guns)grate / window and a crowbar openable grate / window.

Does someone have an example (with expalantion) or tutorial I could use??

Many thanks in advance

P.S. Thanks to WBM for help on the texture split question I asked.

thanks jliboy64:

I have a CAD proggy

(with an extensive library just screaming to be TRLE converted)

and some 3d modelling specific software / ray tracing stuff too!

what I need to know is about tranlating the dxf or other files to TRLE objects....

I'll look at your site and get back to you.

Hi again : jliboy64

I've looked at your site but either I misread your intention or I didn't make my request clear enough.

I have all the recommended texture / wad manipulation tools.

What I need is some help getting to grips with them.

I can make wire-frame and texturise them in CAD ok - I need to know which software is best & which is easiest to use to add the objects to a wad, etc.

It look as if STRPix , jack etc are extractors and Wadmerger is probably the one to add stuff right???

If so does anyone have a simple tutorial to get me off the mark.... or is there a link on your site that I've missed???

You can add (without replacing an other one) a bmp file to a wad with wadmerger. Strpix change textures (replace another one) can assign textures on an object and trwest can move these objects to other wads.
