Dhama, i am still having problems with the texture edit programme. iam still building my level and i did everything you said. (i moved the original aldwych tga into a diff folder and opened it up in texture edit and put some wall and outside text in there. and then saved it the same name as the original and saved it into the same folder) then i load up my project and the texture panel is completely black and no textures are there.

ps... there must be something worn what iam doing but i did everything you said the first time and it worked. BUT I ONLY OVERWRITED TWO TEXTURES. Maybe that is the problem or maybe i have not go enough space or memory left.

ps... In the texture edit, do you overwrite textures or add some more in the blank pink spaces???

dhama i need your help

well i don't really use any art software to be honset with you. But sometimes i do banners and stuff with Ulead Photo Express 2.0SE

and what does this have to do with anything?

all i want to do is just add a few outdoor texters to my aldwych tga set so i can use it in my outdoor space in my level.

Well, you need an art program to save it as 24-bit...

If the texture editor you have saves in TGA format it may give you an option of how you wish to save it i.e. 24bit color. TR editor will only except 24bit color TGA. IF you are still having trouble with it, send it to me via email and I will save it for you in the correct way and then i'll send it back to you.

well i downloaded a good useful programme called ezpix. you can change the format and colour and everything. The tga set was already at 24 bit. and iam still having problems with it. i just can't get it too load in the editor. either my p.c has gone wrong or iam just not doing something right.

Shall i make the changes to the tga set and send it to you?

Reply to this message and i will send it.

ps...please could you set the tga set to the colour and format and all that stuff and test it in your editor please. and if it works and you send it back to me and it works on mine. You will be a good friend and a good pal.

reply and i will send

If you can, get yourself a copy of Paint Shop Pro, it saves in pretty much every format.

Hi Everyone,

The problem isnt with Texture Edit but with the Level Editor itself. Texture Edit is automatically programmed to save your tga's in the correct image format.

Anyway the problem is caused by having the transparent sqaures in your image. Basically the level editor will ignore all the other images after a transparent tile. I'm assuming because you say that you cant see any textures that you have a transparent tile at the very start of your tile set. Simply copy over the transparent sqaure with a different color or image. After saving you will find that you textures will work fine back in the level editor.

If however you still have problems zip up texture file and mail it to me. I'll correct any errors.
